    Now Hiring: Executive Director – Central Valley Habitat for Humanity (CVHFH)

    Location: Harrisonburg, Virginia | Full-Time | Non-Profit Leadership

    Central Valley Habitat for Humanity (CVHFH) is seeking an inspiring and grounded Executive Director to guide our organization into its next chapter of growth and impact. This is a unique opportunity to lead with purpose, empower dedicated staff and volunteers, and drive sustainable housing solutions in our region.

    Position Overview

    As Executive Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of CVHFH while championing its mission to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and practical leadership, with a deep commitment to transparency, collaboration, and community engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Strategy

    • Set and communicate a clear strategic direction, aligning staff and volunteers with CVHFH’s mission and values
    • Lead the development and execution of long-term plans that respond to evolving community needs
    • Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement

    Operational Oversight

    • Oversee the smooth and efficient operation of all departments
    • Ensure financial sustainability through responsible stewardship and resource allocation
    • Adapt operations to meet organizational priorities and overcome challenges

    Team Empowerment

    • Create a supportive, servant-leadership-based culture
    • Hire, develop, and retain mission-aligned team members
    • Promote professional development and hold leaders accountable for outcomes

    Community Engagement

    • Serve as CVHFH’s primary spokesperson and relationship-builder
    • Partner with local governments, donors, businesses, and nonprofits to advance the mission
    • Cultivate trust and transparency with residents, staff, and volunteers

    Project Management & Growth

    • Oversee construction and repair initiatives, land acquisition, and funding strategies
    • Ensure cross-departmental coordination and resource optimization
    • Embrace creative problem-solving to address staffing, funding, and land access challenges

    Board Relations & Governance

    • Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to ensure alignment and accountability
    • Keep board members informed, engaged, and empowered to lead
    • Support strong governance practices and a strategic decision-making culture

    Required Qualifications

    • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and complex projects
    • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
    • Experience in project planning, budgeting, and resource management
    • Servant-leadership mindset grounded in ethics, collaboration, and community service
    • Flexible, creative, and resilient in dynamic environments
