    The Membership Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting IFIP’s global membership by assisting with all aspects of the membership program. This includes onboarding, renewal, and CRM management and maintenance.     Organization Summary and Context

    International Funders for Indigenous Peoples (IFIP) is a global member-based 501(c)3 network representing foundations, Indigenous Led Funds, and funding organizations. IFIP is the only global philanthropy network dedicated to shifting power, mobilizing resources, and building partnerships to amplify Indigenous leadership and to support the self-determination and rights of Indigenous Peoples.

    IFIP influences funders to practice a new paradigm of giving based on Indigenous values “5Rs of Indigenous Philanthropy” —Respect, Reciprocity, Responsibility, Relationships and Redistribution. Building on over 25 years of experience, IFIP is at an exciting moment of evolution and on a path to accelerate organizational capacity to implement our strategic plan and increase advocacy for direct funding to Indigenous Peoples globally.

    Position Overview

    The Membership Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting IFIP’s global membership by assisting with all aspects of the membership program. This includes onboarding, renewal, and CRM management and maintenance. The Coordinator is a key focal point for our global community of members, ensuring they have full access to membership benefits, services, and resources. This position reports to the Engagement and Communications Director and works closely with the IFIP team to promote outreach for IFIP’s events and programs.

    The ideal candidate is mission-driven, data-driven, detail-oriented, and skilled at building and maintaining systems and processes. The Coordinator is a team player who supports relationship management with members and collaborates with the team on outreach efforts to effectively support our programs. The individual must be an effective communicator with members from around the world and be highly motivated to amplify Indigenous philanthropy. They will work closely with the communications team to highlight events, share member updates, and communicate opportunities, while also responding promptly to member requests. This role requires a candidate who brings experience working at a membership-based network, has an understanding of member services, and first-hand knowledge of Indigenous Peoples’ issues.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Membership Services and Coordination

    • Under the direction of the Engagement and Communications Director, support the implementation of the membership engagement strategy, such as coordinating the annual renewal process and assisting with preparations for membership events.
    • Coordinate and follow up with members and prospectives members on the process of membership applications and renewals and monitor and respond to member inquiries.
    • Coordinate new member onboarding, including but not limited to updating member materials, facilitating new member orientation, connecting them with our program offerings, and coordinating virtual membership wide community check-ins.
    • Respond to members inquiries, connect them with key IFIP team members to help welcome them into our global community, and promote the sharing of information and resources through our membership hub and listserv groups.
    • Coordinate the development and analysis of membership surveys and other feedback mechanisms for member satisfaction.
    • Stay up to date on best practices and approaches to membership services.

    Membership CRM & Data Management

    • Manage, maintain and update the member database continuously, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and cybersecurity.
    • Coordinate the organization’s effective use of member CRM by training staff on CRM features and tools, cross-team knowledge sharing, and segmentation of data to support targeted communications and engagement.
    • Generate reports on key metrics related to membership engagement, retention, and growth, and monitor data to inform the member engagement strategy.
    • Analyze membership data to identify gaps and trends, to inform IFIP programming and research, and to support staff efforts on member’s funding priorities.
    • Develop and maintain up-to-date membership lists in the CRM and collaborate with communications staff to ensure timely and relevant communications and outreach opportunities.
    • Support members in the use of our membership hub and actively steward and encourage participation in this online space.
    • Monitor use of the membership hub and potential areas for improvement to enhance member experience and participation, along with identifying items that may require troubleshooting from our IT support team.

    Members Outreach

    • Maintain a current list of members and support the dissemination of member communications.
    • Act as a liaison between the communications team and our members, to help curate, draft and share member special features, events, opportunities, and news.
    • Contribute to the success of IFIP’s activities, events, and global conferences by coordinating with the programs and communications teams to disseminate and promote IFIP’s events to members.
    • Assist with IFIP membership and community events as needed for in-person and virtual events.

    Organizational Culture and Team Collaboration

    • Contribute to a collaborative, results-driven organizational culture and support each other to accomplish tasks at hand, the annual work plan goals, and overall mission.
    • Bring a learning, attention to detail, and initiative taking disposition and participate in organization-wide strategy and learning.
    • Be adaptable and excel in a global multi-cultural and fast paced environment where team members take part and contribute to planning activities, including staff meetings, retreats, trainings, and strategy sessions.
    • Provide support when needed on organization-wide activities, such as webinars, annual events, Global Conferences, etc.
    • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and take responsibility for own administrative tasks such as submission of receipts, reimbursement requests, scheduling, travel planning, etc.
    • Embody and uphold IFIP’s 5Rs (Respect, Relationships, Responsibility, Reciprocity, Redistribution) in working with external stakeholders and internal team members.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, community engagement, international relations and/or a related field.
    • At least 3 years of experience in non-profit organizations, membership associations, and network building.
    • Strong proficiency in database management and membership management CRM software to manage and maintain membership data
    • Knowledge of philanthropy and experience working with international non-profits and Indigenous Peoples’ organizations is strongly preferred.
    • Strong proficiency with remote meeting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and cloud systems for project management.
    • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality
    • Experience in public speaking, facilitation and relationship building of diverse stakeholder strongly preferred.
    • Exceptional collaborative, results and solutions-oriented mindset, problem-solver, ability to contribute towards team collaboration.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in written and oral forms and ability to articulate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
    • Some travel required with ability to travel internationally to urban and rural areas where English may not be the main language.
    • Fluency in English and proficiency in a second language preferred.

    Job details: This is a full-time, hybrid position with 4 days per month at the Sacramento, CA office required. Candidates must be based in Greater the Sacramento Area or San Francisco Bay Area and be authorized to work in the United States.

    Salary: $68,000 – $76,000 based on experience. IFIP offers a competitive benefits package, including paid time off and holidays.
