    Descrição

Life Science Cares Bay Area (LSC-BA) activates the financial and human capital of the life sciences industry and partners with nonprofits to disrupt the cycle of poverty and inequality in our communities. We are transforming Bay Area communities through hands-on industry volunteerism and investment in innovative solutions that ensure our neighbors can access basic needs, education, and economic opportunities.

Since launching in the Bay Area in 2021, we have awarded nearly $5 million in grants to 20+ nonprofit partners, engaged 8,000+ industry volunteers, and provided 120 internships to under-resourced students through Project Onramp.

Life Science Cares Bay Area (LSC-BA) is at an exciting time of growth. With a new strategic plan and ambitious goals to grow our revenue and impact in the community, we are seeking a Development Operations and Marketing Manager to join our Development team.

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Operations and Marketing Manager will help shape LSC-BA’s voice and communications and manage essential systems and processes that support the organization’s growth. This role will support engagement with our corporate partners, Board members, and supporters through events, email marketing, social media, and other channels, as well as ensure our development operations optimize our efforts by maintaining our CRM, tracking donor stewardship, and processing donations. The ideal candidate is a strategic and creative storyteller with excellent writing skills, a strong understanding of digital tools and media, and a passion for advancing the organization’s mission through effective messaging and engagement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Marketing and Communications

    • Manage email marketing platforms (Constant Contact and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge) and develop compelling email communications for LSC Bay Area stakeholders.
    • Create and update marketing materials, including deck presentations, flyers, sponsorship packets, event collateral, and other promotional content.
    • Manage social media for the organization, serving as the online voice and ears of LSC’s network and engaging our diverse stakeholder groups.
    • Manage and optimize the LSC Bay Area digital presence, ensuring the website is a dynamic and up-to-date resource for stakeholders.
    • Manage pre- and post-event communications, ensuring timely updates to stakeholders, attendees, and partners.

    Development Operations

    • Maintain LSC Bay Area’s Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge (BBRE) CRM, ensuring that donor data is current and complete.
    • Process pledges through the BBRE system and generate corresponding reports.
    • Process donations and ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and timely acknowledgments.
    • Assist with venue search and selection for upcoming events, ensuring alignment with event needs and budget.
    • Coordinate registration, invitations, and other logistics for all LSC Bay Area events.
    • Assist with tracking new corporate prospects and individual donors across the Development and Programs teams.
    • Support in ensuring fulfillment of corporate sponsorships.

    General Administration

    • Coordinate and schedule relevant meetings.
    • Record and compile meeting minutes.
    • Prospect for new institutional donors to support LSC-BA programmatic efforts.
    • Provide general administrative support to various departments as needed, including data entry and communication outreach.

    Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

    • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry objects (up to 10 pounds).

    • In-office attendance, as well as event participation outside of the office, is required.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
    • 5 years of experience in a communications, marketing, or fundraising role.
    • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
    • High level of attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge (BBRE) or similar fundraising CRM.
    • Proficiency with email marketing tools, Canva, and social media platforms, including LinkedIn.
    • Knowledge of digital marketing, analytics, and social media trends.
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Experience with donor stewardship.
    • A passion for Life Science Cares’ mission and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within nonprofit fundraising.
