    Descrição

    Description

DOROT seeks an engaging and dynamic Jewish Educator to facilitate our intergenerational B- Mitzvah program. The program brings together pre-B-Mitzvah youth and older adults for an intergenerational journey of Jewish learning, volunteerism, and meaningful engagement that nurtures Jewish pride and communal connection. Participants will explore Jewish Peoplehood, identity, and ideas through discussions, texts, interactive activities, and community service. The thematic approach encompasses the application of two Jewish lenses: Havruta (Companionship) and Arievut (Social Responsibility), to intergenerational learning, discussions, and creating an intergenerational cohort. Programmatic components also include intergenerational storytelling, games, a field trip, and a hands-on community service event.

The Educator receives DOROT’s Facilitator Tool Kit, training and weekly coaching to create a welcoming, collaborative environment that fosters meaningful relationships across generations. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking for part-time work with a structured timeline.

This contract role (approx. 50–60 hours; 2-3 hours a week) from September to mid-December 2025. The role includes both planning and facilitation phases as outlined as follows:

      • Training and planning occurs in September – October.
      • Seven in-person program sessions will take place on Sundays 3:30-5:30pm beginning in October and concluding in December.

    Responsibilities:

Facilitate in-person Sunday sessions for a cohort of ~16 youth (ages 11–12) and ~10 older adults.

Collaborate with DOROT staff to develop lesson plans and curriculum.

Capture highlights for each session for our parent updates.

Potential for program continuation in winter 2026.

    Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in experiential Jewish education and working with youth ages 11 and 12.

Skilled in leading inclusive, engaging group experiences that foster connection and reflection among preteens.

    Excellent verbal and written communication.

Ability to engage youth, parents, and older adults effectively.

This 1099 Contract position will pay $55-$75 per hour, commensurate with experience.
