    Position Summary

    The Development Assistant is an integral member of the development team and will be primarily responsible for providing the administrative, operational, and analytical support necessary to manage and improve the team’s fundraising and relationships. This position requires strong organizational skills and an ability to independently prioritize as well as multi-task. This position reports to the Data and Analytics Manager, with additional oversight from the Individual Giving Manager as needed. This position is hybrid, with required in-person working days on Tuesday, Friday, and other days as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides general administrative support to the development team, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, taking meeting notes, tracking projects in Asana, following up with donors or vendors as needed, and having general awareness of the needs of the department
    • Manages weekly gift approval, gift processing and acknowledgment process
    • Maintains an accurate donor database in Raiser’s Edge by creating donor records, updating biographical and financial information, and managing processes related to data entry such as gift processing and donor contact records
    • Assists with data imports and exports from Raiser’s Edge for various purposes, such as creating donor lists for grant reports, maintaining lists for development communications, and bulk uploading information
    • Drafts short written materials, such as acknowledgement letters and customized short correspondence with donors
    • Prepares staff for donor meetings and events by producing meeting memos and supplementary materials
    • Assists in the production and distribution of reports, mailings, mass emails, and other communications materials to supporters
    • Schedules meetings and manages trips for the VP of Development and CLC's President, which includes coordinating with donors and key stakeholders
    • Leverages technologies such as iWave, Wealth Engine, and Impala to screen prospects and regularly produces donor prospect research profiles to inform donor strategies
    • In collaboration with Manager of Data and Analytics, creates and maintains Power BI dashboards and Power Automate workflows
    • Assists with virtual and occasional in-person events by developing event materials, tracking RSVPs, and helping with day-of logistics
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced professional setting, preferably administrative and/or analytical in nature; demonstrated experience balancing competing demands and priorities
    • Adept at and interested in data systems, databases, and technology for the purpose of data maintenance and data analysis. Experience with donor databases such as Raiser’s Edge a plus
    • Capacity to take initiative, prioritize duties, and work independently while functioning as a member of a team
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
    • Highly organized, superior attention to detail and follow-through; ability to organize self and others
    • Ability to identify repeating patterns to help establish and refine protocols for a growing department
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
    • Interest in pursuing a career in nonprofit fundraising
