    Descrição

    Our Work:

ParentsTogether is a cutting-edge nonprofit impact media organization that reaches 1 in 3 parents in the US with useful, relatable content that families love. We meet overwhelmed parents where they are with news, resources, and entertainment that help them navigate the highs and lows of raising kids today, while at the same time building a community united around a core idea: Parents are powerful and together we can help all families thrive.

Founded in 2012, today ParentsTogether has over 3 million members and reaches tens of millions more parents through social media, online issue organizing, and civic engagement.

    About The Dads Initiative:

The Dads Initiative is a media and civic engagement project, being incubated at impact media organization ParentsTogether. We are building original digital content that meets fathers at the intersection of their interests – sports, the outdoors, fitness, finance, etc – and their self-perceptions as fathers, with the goal of connecting those conversations to the bigger questions of family, community, and democracy. This isn’t about a single channel; it’s about crafting spaces across media that expand our reach and further our impact. We’re making shows for dads, by people who get them, in service of building the world our kids deserve.

We're a small, experimental, fast-moving team. If you've spent your career waiting for permission to try something new, you'll feel at home here.

    Opportunity Overview:

We're looking for a sharp, platform-native social media operator to own the day-to-day management and growth of our accounts on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. You'll be the hands on the keyboard — scheduling and posting content, engaging with our community, monitoring performance, and proactively finding opportunities to grow our presence. You'll work closely with our Director and Senior Producer, but you'll bring your own instincts about what's working on each platform and where the opportunities are.

We're looking for someone excited to join a small team building something from the ground up.

This is an independent contractor role on a monthly retainer, and does not constitute employment.

    Scope of Work:

    The contractor will:

    • Account Operations Handle the back-end management of our YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok accounts — scheduling, publishing, captioning, tagging, and platform-specific optimization for every piece of content. You'll keep things running smoothly across multiple accounts simultaneously, staying on top of specs, timing, and platform best practices.
    • Community Management Monitor and manage comments across all platforms, responding to followers and engaging with commenters in the authentic voice of each account. You know the difference between a reply that builds loyalty and one that falls flat. You're good at representing a brand online in a way that feels human.
    • Organic Growth Lead proactive engagement with similar accounts, creators, and communities across our platforms — following, commenting, and collaborating in ways that expand our reach and build relationships. You understand how organic growth actually works on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube in 2026, and you're not relying on strategies from three years ago.
    • Content Generation Produce some content for the channels to help them grow – especially static posts (memes, carousels, IG stories, etc) to supplement short-form video.
    • Paid & Boosted Content Support or lead boosted content campaigns on Instagram and TikTok — understanding how to allocate small budgets effectively to amplify organic content that's already working. Experience with Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager is a plus.
    • Platform Intelligence Stay current on algorithm changes, emerging formats, and platform trends — especially as they relate to reaching male audiences aged 28–45. Bring that intelligence to the team proactively, not just when asked.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 2 to 5 years of experience managing social media accounts in a professional capacity, including in house, agency, or freelance environments. Demonstrated ownership of account growth, with clear examples of building from zero or materially accelerating existing performance.
    • Fluency across TikTok, Instagram including Reels, Stories, and feed, and YouTube including Shorts and long form. Strong platform instincts, with the ability to adapt content to each environment rather than treating distribution as interchangeable.
    • Experience managing publishing workflows at pace, including use of scheduling tools such as Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or similar, and comfort working within native analytics to inform iteration.
    • Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce captions, comment responses, and outreach that feel natural, specific, and consistent with a defined voice. Comfortable writing in voices that are not your own and maintaining that consistency across accounts.
    • Clear understanding of audience engagement dynamics, particularly with a male 28 to 45 demographic. Ability to identify what builds trust over time versus what drives disengagement. Experience in sports, outdoor, fitness, or lifestyle media is a plus.
    • Comfort operating in an experimental environment, including testing formats, iterating quickly, and applying performance insights to improve outcomes.
    • Experience with paid social or boosted content, familiarity with AI tools in a content workflow, and experience managing accounts in civic, media, or nonprofit contexts are a plus.

    Structure, Compensation, and Collaboration:

This is an independent contractor role on a monthly retainer, and does not constitute employment.

Anticipated scope: Approximately 20-30 hours per week.

    Anticipated start date: May 2026.

    Initial contract length: 6 months.

Compensation for this contract role is structured as a monthly retainer in the range of $3,000 to $3,500, depending on experience and scope alignment.

The contractor will maintain autonomy over their work schedule and workflow. To support effective collaboration, we generally operate in Eastern Time and prefer to schedule meetings and real time coordination between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM ET when feasible. Specific collaboration windows will be mutually agreed upon while preserving contractor discretion over how and when project work is completed.

Final rate and contract terms will be determined based on qualifications, demonstrated technical capability, and mutual agreement.

    Evaluation Process:

Applications will be reviewed based on relevant experience, and alignment with the needs of the role.

The evaluation process is designed to assess both strategic fit and practical execution capability.

    1. Round 1 will include a 60 minute interview focused on experience, content sensibility, and core skills.
    2. Round 2 will include submission of a work sample or brief to evaluate approach to concept development and execution.
    3. Round 3 will include a 45 minute final interview to review the work sample, discuss mission alignment, and align on scope, working style, and expectations for the contract engagement.
