The Carter Burden Network (CBN) promotes the well-being of older adults 60 and older through a continuum of services, advocacy, arts and culture, health and wellness, and volunteer programs—all oriented to individual, family, and community needs. We are dedicated to supporting the efforts of older adults to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes and communities. We are partially funded by NYC Aging.

Carter Burden Luncheon Club – Upper East Side, NYC

If so, you might be the perfect addition to our small but mighty team at the Carter Burden Luncheon Club.

We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator who brings heart, curiosity, and a commitment to service. In this role, you’ll be the welcoming face for volunteers, the steady support behind our daily lunch service, and a key connector between older adults and the volunteers who brighten their days. You’ll also help coordinate several NYC Aging–funded programs that reduce isolation and strengthen community bonds.

This is a 100% in-person role in a lively older adult center with a commercial kitchen, a bustling dining room, and a team of colleagues who care deeply about the work we do. A note about weekends & holidays:

Our Luncheon Club hosts a beloved annual Christmas Day meal for older adults, and all staff—including this role—participate in making that day special. Compensation & Benefits

The position offers an hourly rate between $17-19.78, fully aligned with the NYC Pay Transparency Act. Employees in this position are eligible for CBN’s comprehensive benefits package, which includes multiple health and dental plan options—some of which are 100% employer paid—along with 15 vacation days, 4 personal days, 10 sick days, and 10 paid holidays. The organization also provides a 403(b)-retirement plan featuring a 3% employer contribution, with eligibility for an additional matched contribution after one year of service.
