The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic, community-focused leader to serve
as its next President and CEO. This individual will provide strategic leadership for the Chamber,
champion local businesses, strengthen community partnerships, and oversee the organization's
operations and the City's destination marketing organization, Explore Edmonds.
Salary
$120,000–$135,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and oversee all Chamber services, programs, economic development initiatives,
and public policy activities.
- Ensure organizational priorities align with member needs and strategic goals.
- Direct the Chamber's strategic planning process, including annual planning, budgeting,
and Board retreats.
- Operate in accordance with the Chamber's bylaws and strategic plan.
Board Relations & Governance
- Partner with the Board Chair and Executive Committee to develop meeting agendas and
materials.
- Support and coordinate the work of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
- Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the Board.
Community & Government Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, community organizations,
elected officials, and regional partners.
- Serve as the Chamber's primary liaison to the Mayor, City Council, City staff, and
regional organizations.
- Represent the Chamber on boards, commissions, and community organizations.
Destination Marketing Organization (Explore Edmonds)
- Oversee management of Explore Edmonds, the City of Edmonds' Destination Marketing
Organization.
- Lead destination marketing strategies that promote tourism, economic vitality, and
community engagement.
- Manage contractors and vendors, including public relations, social media, website
development, and marketing services.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for Explore Edmonds.
- Collaborate with local businesses, tourism partners, and community stakeholders to
develop promotional initiatives.
- Monitor performance metrics and evaluate marketing and tourism programs.
- Ensure brand consistency across Chamber and Explore Edmonds initiatives.
- Identify sponsorships, partnerships, and funding opportunities to support destination
marketing.
Staff Leadership & Human Resources
- Recruit, lead, and develop Chamber staff.
- Delegate responsibilities while ensuring accountability and high performance.
- Maintain HR policies that comply with state and federal laws.
- Oversee employee performance management, compensation, and professional
development.
Financial Management & Fundraising
- Manage the Chamber's financial operations, including budgeting and financial reporting.
- Ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency.
- Lead fundraising efforts and identify new revenue opportunities that benefit members
and the community.
Programs, Services & Operations
- Oversee all Chamber programs, events, services, and member engagement activities.
- Ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Assign staff support to committees and facilitate effective coordination.
Branding & Communications
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Chamber.
- Promote the Chamber's mission, advocacy efforts, programs, and services to members
and the broader community.
Foundation & Partnerships
- Provide leadership support to the Edmonds Chamber Foundation (501(c)(3)).
- Collaborate with community partners to advance shared economic and community goals.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of local and regional business, government, and public policy.
- Sound judgment and ability to make independent decisions.
- Commitment to professionalism, diplomacy, and outstanding customer service.
- Proven experience leading teams and fostering collaboration.
- Strong time management skills and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as
needed.
- Ability to adapt to evolving priorities established by the Board of Directors.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to sign legal documents and permits as required.
