    Descrição

UJA-Federation of New York’s work is to care for Jews everywhere and New Yorkers of all backgrounds, to respond to crises close to home and far away, and to shape our Jewish future. To accomplish these goals, UJA provides grants to hundreds of nonprofits and, at the center of UJA’s local work are our 60+ New York based core partners. The Network Department works in partnership with our core partners to ensure that they are well-managed organizations, and that they continue to meet the needs of an ever-evolving population. We do this by providing general operating support, monitoring the financial and governance practices of our closest partners, and by providing designated grants to support technology/digital advancement, energy efficiency programs, and talent development at all levels.

Young Leaders is UJA-Federation of New York’s umbrella community for individuals in their 20s, 30s and early 40s encompassing all trades and affinities. Throughout the year, UJA Young Leaders provides more than 150 opportunities for involvement, including community programs, volunteer projects, career-specific programs, overseas travel, leadership positions and content-rich experiences. UJA Young Leaders provides New Yorkers the ability to make a positive impact in New York, in Israel, and around the world.

The activities of this division are fast-paced and high energy; therefore, this role requires a team-player with the ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot, and be a forward-thinker.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Provide administrative support for UJA Young Leaders department and staff across events, programs, campaign and donor engagement opportunities, as well as for ongoing and occasional FRD (fundraising) initiatives.
      • General responsibilities could include: ordering supplies, paying invoices, processing expense reports, requesting materials, arranging food and room requests as needed for specific fundraisers/events.
    • Use fundraising database to process gifts and payments, manage event registrations, run giving lists/reports, and track attendance at meetings, events, programs, and trips. Encouraged to take ownership for account clean-up on any donor/prospect account being worked on.
    • In working with the broader Young Leaders team, manage the UJA Young Leaders micro-site and outlook inbox inquiries coming from prospective donors. Begin with research, followed by donor calls/zooms/meetings, ultimately collaborating with other fundraisers to move donors along to proper ‘home’ within UJA Young Leaders.
    • Provide event support before, during and after UJA Young Leaders meetings, events and programs with emphasis on prospecting and creative brainstorms.
    • Oversee marketing partnership and projects including the Young Leaders newsletter and social media strategies (with professional partnership where appropriate).
    • Help fundraisers create ‘universe of donors’ through research, event follow-up, donor inquiries and more.
    • Programs within portfolio includes, but are not limited to: Generosity Gala, Young Leaders Executive Committee, Jewish Learning Series, Chai Project Committee, Couples programming, and boutique/30s events.
    • TBA: additional projects/tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications & Competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel in particular), the Internet, and database management.
    • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to understand systems and procedures.
    • Detail-oriented, effective time manager, with the ability to multitask in an extremely fast-paced work environment.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and administrative skills.
    • Flexible and proactive self-starter with strong interpersonal communication skills.
    • Interest in fundraising, philanthropy and events.
    • Positive work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
