    United Way Bay Area (UWBA) mobilizes the Bay Area to dismantle the root causes of poverty and build equitable pathways to prosperity. UWBA brings together partners from the nonprofit, business, and government sectors to address Bay Area poverty.     About the role

    UWBA seeks a dynamic and motivated fundraiser to serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of corporate partners. This highly visible role will drive strategy, deepen engagement, and secure significant resources to advance UWBA’s mission to fight poverty and strengthen Bay Area communities.

    As a key member of the Corporate Partnerships team, the Senior Manager will manage and grow a portfolio of corporate accounts, including workplace campaigns, sponsorships, and employee engagement. They will identify and cultivate new corporate and individual donor prospects and work closely with the Director of Corporate Partnerships to develop strategies and achieve ambitious revenue goals. This role collaborates across departments, including Finance, Marketing, and Community Impact, to maximize impact and ensure partner satisfaction.

    The ideal candidate is a stellar relationship-builder and fearless fundraiser who is passionate about solving poverty in the Bay Area. They are comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders, including C-suite executives, and thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.

    What you'll do

    • Develop and execute comprehensive corporate engagement and revenue strategies for both new and existing accounts to increase involvement and strengthen relationships with individual supporters. This includes delivering direct support such as speaking engagements, event facilitation, and volunteer project coordination.
    • Leverage volunteerism as a strategic tool to attract new supporters and increase relevance and visibility among existing partners.
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new corporate prospects, driving revenue through new partnerships, renewals, and increased investment from current partners, with an emphasis on unrestricted and programmatic support.
    • Collaborate closely with colleagues across Development, Marketing, Community Impact, and Affinity Group Teams to design and deliver opportunities for corporate employees to connect directly with UWBA’s mission and initiatives.
    • Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with corporate representatives, serving as a trusted partner and resource in enhancing their corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals, employee engagement, and talent strategies.
    • Manage relationships with key corporate donors and decision-makers within assigned accounts, ensuring consistent engagement and value delivery.
    • Design and implement a diverse portfolio of engagement opportunities for corporate partners, including sponsorships, volunteerism, grant proposals, and workplace giving campaigns.
    • Ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of all corporate recognition and sponsorship benefits.
    • Monitor and report on revenue forecasts and progress across assigned accounts and individual donor portfolios, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all engagement activities and relationship management efforts in Salesforce.
    • Coordinate and manage volunteers, board members, and other stakeholders engaged in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 4–7+ years of experience as a front-line fundraiser in the nonprofit sector, or equivalent experience in corporate sales or business development.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including experience with public speaking and relationship management across all levels of an organization.
    • Proven ability to manage and steward donor or client relationships with a strong focus on engagement and retention.
    • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong collaborator who thrives in team settings and also works effectively with minimal supervision.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with strong digital literacy and internet research skills.
    • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems; familiarity with Salesforce is highly desirable.
    • Skilled in project management with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment that values diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and contributions.
    • Willing and able to travel throughout the Bay Area for meetings and events, including evening and weekend engagements.

    This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement and is represented by OPEIU, Local 29.
