    We are seeking a Coordinator, Retail Operations Committees who will support the retail executives who participate in RILA’s Retail Operations committees and who will work directly with RILA’s supply chain, digital retail/ecommerce, store operations, cargo theft, and soon the internal technology executive communities while also providing basic systems and event support for the broader Retail Operations team. This role provides a unique opportunity to learn about leading retailers and the industry from the inside, with future opportunities to evolve the role’s responsibilities to align with the employee’s interests and competencies. This position reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain.

    What we are looking for:

    As a member of our multi-faceted Retail Operations department, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about the complex web of retail industry operations and can balance multiple projects and issue areas at the same time. This position will learn from and work with member retail executives in addressing the challenges and innovations that impact millions of employees and consumers each day.

    A preview of position responsibilities:

    • Provide key support and administrative assistance to the Retail Operations team, mostly supporting committee-related activities with retail executives in the following roles:
      • Supply Chain – leads of Distribution and Fulfillment, Transportation/Logistics, Chief Supply Chain Officers
      • Digital Retail/Ecommerce – Chief Digital Officers, heads of Ecommerce
      • Store Operations – Chief Store Operations Officers
      • Cargo Theft – Supply Chain and Asset Protection executives
    • Provide administrative and meeting planning and logistical assistance to other Retail Operations communities as needed
    • Communicate with key retail executives, solution provider partners and other external stakeholders to drive Retail Operations agenda and initiatives
    • Schedule meetings and conference calls with member companies
    • Regularly send emails, updates, and correspondences for RILA committee members on activities (e.g., newsletters, issue briefs, committee memoranda, research reports, industry articles, etc.)
    • Assist in the development of benchmarking surveys, data analysis, and summary reports
    • Attend select RILA conferences, committee meetings and other industry events
    • Maintain topic area and committee content on RILA.org website
    • Maintain relevant data in Salesforce-based platform including contacts, distribution lists and more
    • Some travel required

    Initial growth opportunities:

    • Ability to identify key trends and priority topics on own to share with the team by monitoring the retail industry landscape and developments to use for communications and planning
    • Assist with stand up of/planning for new Internal Technology community for Chief Information Officers
    • Produce written communications on technical topics and focus areas as knowledge is developed

    • A top-tier communicator with both written and verbal skills and a passion for detail, quality and accuracy
    • Professional demeanor, comfortable working and communicating with executives
    • A commitment to customer and staff service working in an in-office environment
    • Solid knowledge of standard desktop software including Microsoft Office products, familiarity with Zoom and Teams video conferencing and Salesforce/Fonteva a plus
    • Be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines
    • Curiosity and drive to learn about the retail industry and retail member companies
    • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to navigate competing priorities, work independently, and take initiative but seek input/direction when needed
    • Willingness to learn and evolve
    • And the most essential skill of all - "figure it out"

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • $52,000 starting annual salary with overtime and bonus opportunities
