Play Mountain Place is looking for a warm, organized, and dependable part-time Administrative Assistant to join our school community. This person will be an important first point of contact for families and visitors while providing day-to-day administrative and operational support to teachers and staff.
The position is 15–20 hours per week, generally Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., with some flexibility for additional hours and occasional evening or weekend events.
The Administrative Assistant will help keep the school running smoothly by:
- Welcome and assist visitors, families, and prospective families, providing a warm and professional first point of contact for the school.
- Answer, document, and appropriately direct incoming phone calls, messages, and inquiries.
- Receive, organize, and distribute mail, deliveries, and other communications.
- Respond to day-to-day requests from parents, teachers, and staff and provide timely administrative support.
- Support teachers with supply ordering, communications, and other administrative needs.
- Maintain accurate attendance records
- Monitor the availability of essential safety supplies.
- Communicate facility and maintenance concerns requiring attention and coordinate with service providers as needed.
- Assist with the preparation of campus spaces and materials for school events and provide event support as needed.
- Monitor and respond to admissions inquiries and assist with coordinating prospective family tours.
- Purchase snacks, classroom materials, and other supplies as needed.
- Assist with occasional school errands and other administrative tasks that support the smooth operation of the school.
We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and genuinely enjoys being part of a community with children and families. The right person will have a friendly and professional manner, strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to manage a variety of tasks while staying responsive to the needs of the school.
You should be comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team member. Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets) is expected. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred, and the successful candidate must meet applicable state requirements for school and childcare employees.
This is a year-round, non-exempt position paying $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience, education, and qualifications.
