Arcora Foundation is dedicated to improving health equity by partnering with communities to prevent oral disease, transform health systems and increase access to dental care. Our long-term vision is that all people can enjoy good oral and overall health, with no one left behind.

    We’re seeking a Senior Program Officer, SmileMobile to lead the Foundation’s mobile dental program and facilitate community partner connections. In this role, you will serve as the clinic director responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the SmileMobile program (mobile dental clinic), staffed primarily by contracted clinicians, volunteer dental professionals, and administrative staff. The SmileMobile program operates 30 – 32 clinics annually (averaging 1 -2 weeks duration). You will partner with Arcora colleagues, community partners, and public agencies to identify prospective clinic sites for the SmileMobile throughout the state of Washington.

    The pay range for this position in Western Washington varies between $92,900 – $145,700. Washington Dental Service and its affiliates, including Arcora Foundation, Delta Dental of Washington, and TriForza intends to offer the selected candidate a base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.

    • Cultivate relationships with local communities, nonprofit organizations, healthcare organizations, and local health jurisdictions cross the state of Washington, prioritizing areas and communities furthest from health equity, to understand the oral health care needs and goals of the local residents to ensure that the SmileMobile program is increasing access to care in the communities that need it most.
    • Lead and manage clinic operations, including scheduling clinics; supporting logistics coordination; ensuring the clinics meet all necessary federal, state, and local compliance and licensing requirements; ensuring the security and accuracy of patient and services data captured in the electronic dental records system; and proactively managing the SmileMobile budget and contracts.
    • Oversee service delivery, including assuring the provision of high-quality, culturally relevant services delivered in a safe and effective manner and supporting referrals for additional care and education that patients may need to meet their health goals.
    • Lead and manage the team of FTE staff, volunteers, and contractors (i.e., dentists, hygienists, assistants) who work on the mobile dental clinic and drivers who deliver the van from site to site, including recruiting, contracting, and the provision of ongoing training to ensure the SmileMobile is able to deliver high-quality, culturally relevant care; and managing work schedules to ensure the SmileMobile is fully staffed during its clinics to support operations and service delivery.
    • Lead and manage the team in training dental therapy and dental students to ensure successful community rotations and preceptorships.
    • Engage with staff and external partners to identify community-driven approaches to eliminate oral health disparities within communities. Partner with key collaborators to develop performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness.
    • Oversee the maintenance and safety of the SmileMobile, including ensuring the mobile unit is regularly serviced, safe, and roadworthy; managing equipment and supplies; implementing infection prevention and control policies and procedures; and ensuring emergency preparedness plans are in place and rehearsed with the SmileMobile team.
    • Represent the Foundation to various audiences and prepare and deliver presentations, as needed.
    • Promote a culture of learning, equity, and collaboration across all areas of responsibility

    The experience, skills, and education needed to succeed in the position are outlined below. These requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.

    • Demonstrated ability to build and deepen relationships with tact and professionalism, working effectively and respectfully with a diversity of individuals and communities across various educational, political, ideological, cultural, and geographical experiences and backgrounds.
    • Demonstrated experience leading and overseeing clinical operations that aim to increase access to high quality and culturally responsive care for patients that identify as Black, Indigenous, and other people of color.
    • Demonstrated success in uild local support for program goals aligned with the Foundation’s objectives.
    • Demonstrated experience managing clinical workflows and electronic health records (e.g., Dentrix Ascend), with a strong record of ensuring staff, contractors, and volunteers adhere to infection control standards and state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate information both verbally and in writing, ensuring effective collaboration and understanding.
    • Experience in strategic operations, organizational effectiveness, or project management, with the ability to connect strategy, performance management, and organizational learning.
    • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities projects, troubleshoot, meet deadlines, and successfully complete work with minimal direction.
    • Experience leading diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and activities.
    • Deep commitment to equity and alignment with the Foundation’s mission and the vision the Foundation shares with Washington Dental Service.
    • Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant professional experience
    • CPR/First Aid certification
    • Valid driver’s license
