    POSITION SUMMARY

This position is where Pure Earth's mission comes to life, directly translating organizational strategies into concrete actions to protect public health.

The Vice President of Programs is a critical member of Pure Earth’s Leadership Team, responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the organization's global portfolio of grant-funded field programs through a network of country offices across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. At Pure Earth, “programs” typically include biomonitoring activities to assess exposure to toxicants, assessing contaminant levels in environmental media and consumer goods, and implementing interventions to directly mitigate the release of, or exposure to toxic pollutants.

In this strategic managerial role, the VP directs and mentors a team of Regional Program Directors in Pure Earth’s headquarters, and with those Directors, supports country offices to consistently meet grant commitments, maintain outstanding program quality, and achieve meaningful impacts in the communities we serve.

The VP is instrumental in championing program excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role requires proactive identification and resolution of implementation challenges, strategic planning to effectively manage a complex portfolio of programs in over a dozen low- and middle-income countries, and a commitment to fostering professional growth within diverse teams. The ideal candidate will be a visionary yet pragmatic leader who excels in navigating diverse cultural contexts and stakeholder environments.

Reporting directly to Pure Earth’s President, the Vice President of Programs closely collaborates with senior leaders across operations, finance, research and technical support, human resources, development, and communications. They ensure organizational alignment, promote effective resource mobilization strategies, and drive initiatives to improve efficiency and impact. Their leadership ensures that Pure Earth remains dedicated to delivering innovative, high-quality programming that measurably improves public health and generates sustainable change.

This role is suited to an ambitious, pragmatic leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and is comfortable managing a large, complex portfolio of international programs. It demands resilience, creativity, and a willingness to engage across time zones and outside traditional work hours to support a truly global mission. If you are ready for a challenge that will test your skills, stretch your creativity, and push you to innovate, this position offers the fulfillment of generating life-changing impacts for some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. We invite a visionary Vice President of Programs to join our dynamic global team and help shape a healthier, more equitable future for millions of people.
