    Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

    Position Classification: Full Time with Benefits; Hybrid role

    PRIMARY FUNCTION

    The Director of Resource Development & Communications is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to secure financial support from individuals, grants, corporations, foundations, and special events. This role fosters a culture of philanthropy within the organization, ensuring adherence to sound fund development principles, donor confidentiality, and compliance with accountability standards.

    The Director maintains a portfolio of major gift and corporate sponsorship prospects, develops new donor pipelines, and will partner with the CEO on development activities in support of annual operating and endowment funding.

    This role will supervise a grant writer and /or development consultants.

    QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor’s degree in field. Master’s degree is a plus.
      • Minimum of (5) five years of experience managing and leading a development program.
      • Proven experience managing a portfolio of principal/major gift prospects, with demonstrated success in securing six- and seven-figure gifts.
      • Strong public speaking, written, and oral communication skills.
      • Proficiency in fundraising software tools.
      • Knowledge of planned-giving and grant funding.
      • Ability to engage with local community events, groups, and committees as a representative of BGCGNH.
      • Experience in writing and/or editing appeals, newsletters, and media articles.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Fundraising Strategy & Execution

      • Directs and manages all development activities, including annual and special appeals, capital and major gift campaigns, donor recognition, planned giving, and fundraising events.
      • Creates long-range and short-term fundraising goals with measurable outcomes.
      • Develops a balanced funding mix of donor sources and solicitation programs to sustain operations and long-term stability.
      • Identifies and cultivates large individual donors, corporate sponsorships, and strategic partnerships with businesses, foundations, and community organizations (including entertainment and sports industries), and civic and faith-based support (both cash and in kind).
      • Establishes and implements a multi-year development plan focusing on individual donors, corporations, foundations, events, and planned-giving.

    Board & Volunteer Engagement

      • Works closely with the Board of Directors, enlisting and motivating board members and volunteers in fundraising activities.
      • Staff liaison to the Resource Development Committee, supporting board members in their fundraising and advocacy efforts.

    Donor Relations & Stewardship

      • Develops and supervises donor recognition strategies and events.
      • Maintains donor confidentiality and ensures proper gift recording and stewardship.
      • Coordinates appeal letters, thank-you letters, and donor communication materials.
      • Develops and maintains a donor database to promote donor cultivation and solicitation.
      • Familiarity with prospect research best practices and comfortable utilizing donor CRM systems.

    Marketing Oversight

      • Coordinates closely with Even /Marketing team or outside firm and CEO on all aspects of Marketing involving donors, funders and fundraising initiatives.

    Financial & Administrative Oversight

      • Prepares financial reports, including projected timelines for revenue receipt.
      • Participates in strategic planning with the CEO, development staff, and board to guide fund development efforts.
      • Ensures compliance with best practices in fundraising and donor management.

    COMPENSATION

    The salary and benefits package are competitive: $100,000 - $125,000; and commensurate with experience.
