    The National Association for Hispanic Elderly/Asociacion Nacional Pro Personas Mayores (NAFHE/ANPPM) is looking for a National Program Coordinator in the Pasadena, Calif., Office. The Coordinator’s main responsibility is managing, coordinating, and implementing the NAFHE/ANPPM Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP).

    Participants in SCSEP are 55 years and older and are provided 20 to 25 paid community service hours in term limited jobs at local qualified host organizations, either a not-for-profit organization or a state or local government agency. In exchange for the grant participant, the host organization provides valuable in-kind job training for the participant. As part of the program, the participants are encouraged and assisted to use the community service hour experience to find a permanent job within the private or public sector before the end of their term.

    NAFHE/ANPPM has eight regional offices covering various counties in Arizona, California, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania.

    Specifically, the National Program Coordinator will:

    • Main point of contact with the Department of Labor SCSEP Team
    • Maintain grant compliance through internal systems and processes
    • Manage staff at the Pasadena, Calif. office and the Regional Program Coordinators
    • Use program data to monitor and evaluate regional progress
    • Identify, maintain and create partnerships with local and national not-for-profit organizations
    • Collect, input, and verify grant program data entered into federal cloud-based grant management systems
    • Interpret and analyze demographic and market date to support SCSEP grant compliance and goals
    • Write, review, and develop internal systems, structures and policies for grant program
    • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and other public speaking engagement or opportunities
    • Team management using virtual meeting and online collaboration tools

    The ideal candidate will have

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing a staff of five to eight employees
    • Background or experience in community organizing; job placement programs; or social welfare work
    • Experience working in non-profit organizations or a government grant making or monitoring agency
    • Self-starter comfortable with managing a mostly remote team of 5 to 8 people
    • Knowledge of federal procurement and grant monitoring requirements
    • Data entry and quality control of cloud-based data management systems
    • Proficient in managing projects and teams with Microsoft Office 365
    • Knowledge and use of cloud-based technology products
    • Virtual meeting technology, both hosting and participating
    • Domestic and regional travel required

    The National Association for Hispanic Elderly/Asociacion Nacional Pro Personas Mayores is a national non-profit that promotes opportunities and equity for persons 55 and older. Based in Pasadena, California, the 50-year-old organization mostly serves communities with Latino and Latina ancestry demographics.

    This NAFHE/ANPPM project received $12,843,943.00 from a grant awarded under the Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP), as implemented by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration. $485,214 (add additional amount that’s considered leveraged resources from non-federal funds) of the project is financed by non-governmental sources.
