    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Senior Data Analyst supports the Quality Improvement & Impact department’s mission to empower program staff with data-driven insights that improve service delivery and client outcomes. The Senior Data Analyst, who also supervises a Data Analyst on the team, holds responsibilities across a range of activities including performance measurement and monitoring, quality improvement initiatives, database management, data collection tool development, evaluation activities, and organizational learning. The Senior Data Analyst will collaborate closely with frontline program staff to define key program metrics, create impactful visualizations and reports that monitor performance, conduct trainings on the use of data tools, and facilitate discussions on the use of data for performance improvement.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Collaborate with program and administrative staff on the design, development, and maintenance of interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations that monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs), client outcomes, and service utilization, ensuring that staff have access to the information they need to make decisions.
    • Conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform program improvement, program planning, as well as to support grant/funder reporting.
    • Prepare and present data findings to various audiences, including program staff, management, and other stakeholders, in a clear and concise manner.
    • Develop and implement data quality tools and processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
    • Provide training, technical assistance, and other ongoing support to program staff on the use of data analysis tools, report interpretation, and data quality/data integrity processes, including the developing of training materials, user guides, and other resources as needed.
    • Contribute to the development, implementation, and management of quality improvement plans and strategies.
    • Use querying tools (e.g., Power Query, SQL) to develop and maintain data models and base queries used across the department for recurring data monitoring reports and dashboards in Power BI to meet various needs, such as consumer demographics, program services, clinical performance, and billing.
    • Support the administration and analysis of consumer feedback surveys and focus groups, to evaluate quality of services/operations, and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain data dictionaries and documentation related to data governance.
    • Provide direct supervision to one or more Data Analysts.
    • Support program evaluation and research projects, including generating and cleaning datasets for analysis, and contributing to the development of evaluation reports or presentations, in collaboration with internal program evaluation staff and external evaluation partners.

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Attention to detail and strong research skills
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to work with diverse colleagues and communities
    • Ability to work independently and in a team

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Social Sciences). Master’s degree preferred.
    • Strong knowledge and technical skills
    • Experience working with program staff in a direct service environment, preferably in a nonprofit or human services setting, or experience related to program evaluation
    • Strong knowledge and technical skills of statistical analysis techniques, querying languages, and supportive computer software packages (e.g. SQL, R, SPSS, or Python)
    • Experience with data visualization, information design, and/or workflow design using visualization tools such as Power BI (preferred), Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio, etc.
