    About LEEP

LEEP is an impact-driven nonprofit working to eliminate childhood lead poisoning, a major and highly neglected global public health issue affecting an estimated one in three children worldwide. Our work focuses on generating evidence, supporting governments to introduce and enforce regulation, and working with manufacturers to eliminate lead from paint and other sources.

Since launching in 2020, we have grown rapidly, establishing programs in 40+ countries and securing support from major global funders and partners including Bloomberg Philanthropies, Coefficient Giving, and the WHO. Our work is widely recognised as one of the most cost-effective ways to improve global health.

LEEP is now entering a new phase of growth. We more than doubled our headcount in 2025 and expect to continue scaling quickly in 2026 and beyond, expanding both our geographic footprint and the scope of our work.

As we scale, we are still building the systems, structures, and ways of working that will enable us to operate effectively as a global organisation. This creates a rare opportunity for a Head of People to shape how LEEP works as an organisation, ensuring our people, leadership, and operating model are set up to support ambitious growth and maximise our impact.

    About the Role

The Head of People will shape how LEEP scales as an organisation, leading the design of our people strategy, leadership capability, culture, and ways of working across a rapidly growing global team.

You will report to the COO and be a core member of the Leadership Group at LEEP. You will play a central role in shaping how LEEP operates, including organisational design, leadership effectiveness, team performance, and a strong, values-driven culture.

LEEP has grown quickly and continues to expand across countries and contexts. Many of our systems, management practices, and ways of working are still evolving, and this role will take ownership of building and refining them as we scale.

You will lead, manage and grow the People function, working closely with senior leaders to support decision-making, strengthen leadership, and ensure teams are set up to succeed.

This role requires strong judgement, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to move between strategy and execution. It is well-suited to someone who enjoys building organisations, not just running HR processes or maintaining existing systems.

    Responsibilities

    1. People Strategy and Leadership
    • Design and drive LEEP’s global People Strategy to support our continued growth and success
    • Provide advice and thought partnership to the COO and senior leadership on organisational development, workforce planning, culture, change management and HR considerations.
    • Lead and Manage LEEP’s People Team (this includes employees, agencies and consultants).
    1. Talent Strategy
    • Set and oversee hiring strategy to ensure LEEP attracts and selects high-calibre, mission-aligned talent.
    • Ensure an outstanding candidate experience and transparent, efficient hiring processes.
    • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth, compliant, and high-quality experiences.
    • Lead succession planning and long-term workforce development.
    1. Performance, Progression, and Leadership Development
    • Ensure LEEP has effective mechanisms to identify, develop, and retain high-performing team members, with a focus on improving organisational performance rather than maintaining formal processes.
    • Ensure managers and team members are appropriately trained and supported to excel in their roles
    • Oversee the design and delivery of LEEP’s learning and development function
    1. Culture, Engagement and Organisational Health
    • Shape and reinforce a high-performance, values-driven culture across a growing global team
    • Design and deliver team-wide culture initiatives, values-alignment activities, and internal communications.
    • Oversee and lead LEEP’s People Operations and core HR systems
    • Play an active part in LEEP’s leadership group, operations team, and anything else that is reasonably required of you for LEEP to succeed.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Strong alignment with LEEP’s mission and values
    • Substantial demonstrated experience leading teams or scaling fast-growing organisations
    • Outstanding judgement
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Comfortable with ambiguity and balancing strategy with hands-on execution
    • Comfortable prioritising organisational outcomes over process consistency
    • Ability to lead change and shape a scaling organisation
    • Prior HR experience is not required; excellent People leadership, management experience and strategic thinking are critical.
