Job objective: We are seeking a detail‑oriented, reliable bookkeeper to support our finance operations on a part‑time, contract basis. This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping professional who enjoys flexible, independent work and is comfortable supporting a small nonprofit with clean, accurate financial processes.
- Key Responsibilities
- Code bank transactions in a timely manner
- Maintain GAAP Accounting standards on an accrual basis
- Complete Bank Reconciliations of the previous month’s books by the 15th of every month
- Collect and attach all necessary documentation in QBO (grant letters, bills, receipts, agreements)
- Keep all relevant documentation organized and filed in an online system (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
- Enter invoices into Bill.com for payment
- Track all grants and time-restricted net assets
- Communicate with ED or relevant staff to ensure all donor-restricted funds are used according to the letter or agreement
- Draft board financials with narrative notes for the ED on a periodic basis determined by both parties
- Prepare and file 1099s for contractors annually
- Assist with yearly audit and 990 review
- Create Fixed Asset Depreciation schedule per the organization’s depreciation policy
