    The person in this role should exhibit a commitment to Richmond Hill’s healing mission and to advancing the care of the facilities and grounds—collectively, “the facilities”—that are central to this place-based ministry. Leveraging firm knowledge of and the ability to undertake basic maintenance procedures, coordinate and manage contractors, and meeting permit/inspection requirements, this individual will respect and care for the physical needs of Richmond Hill with spiritual, ministerial, and pastoral awareness and care.

    RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

    • Manage the day-to-day and long-term care of Richmond Hill’s historic facilities, in coordination with residents, staff, and volunteers
    • Oversee the implementation of large maintenance and capital campaign projects
    • Oversee maintenance needs, assuring repairs and services are properly completed and within budgetary constraints
    • Ensure the building systems (e.g., HVAC, network communications, security) are operational and properly maintained
    • In collaboration with Richmond Hill’s Director of Operations, establish and coordinate appropriate service and supplier contracts
    • Arrange the cost-effective purchase of supplies for cleaning and maintenance of the facilities, including related supplies for hospitality and residents use (e.g., cleansers, toilet paper, paper towels, dish liquids, soap, etc.)
    • Coordinate with residents re: 1) scheduled work that could affect community life, work, and programming and 2) any needs, regulations, or schedules concerning refuse and waste disposal

    Other expectations:

      • Attend all staff meetings, currently held at 10:15a every other Tuesday
      • Coordinate the meetings and membership of and serve as staff-liaison to the Facilities Committee
      • Facilitate the formation of and attend meetings of the Garden Committee
      • Attend or support Richmond Hill’s special events, as appropriate and able

    HOURS/SCHEDULE

    Full-time, 40-hours per week (scheduled with Manager; independently and weekly tracked). Typical hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00a – 5:00p, however some responsibilities will need to be fulfilled outside these hours. Time-off is earned and taken in accordance with the Richmond Hill Employee Handbook

    COMMUNITY COMMITMENT

    This position does not require a residential commitment. However all empoyees are strongly encouraged to embrace the tenets of the Rule of Richmond Hill and, when on site, to attend the Community’s 15-minute prayer services (scheduled 7:00a, noon, 5:30p).

    POSITION CLASSIFICATION

    This position is classified as “non-exempt” under the Fair Labor Standards Act and will be filled by an individual serving as an employee (receiving a W-2 after year’s end)

    This position description reflects Richmond Hill’s current assignment of functions; it does not proscribe nor restrict the future assignment of tasks.
