    We are seeking a proactive, organized, and discreet professional to serve as Executive Assistant to the CEO and HR Generalist. This hybrid role combines core human resources responsibilities with high-level executive support. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and problem-solver who can manage confidential matters, streamline HR processes, and support the CEO in day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Executive Assistant

    As the Executive Assistant, this individual is responsible for providing administrative and strategic support to the President & CEO and will function as the primary contact person for the Board of Directors and associated working groups (Board Executive Committee, Planning Committee, and Nominating Committee).

    • Manages the President & CEO’s calendar, ensuring that the President & CEO’s schedule is handled in an efficient and professional manner.
    • Manages and serves as the Board of Directors liaison with high-level administrative tasks which include meeting logistics, scheduling, and reporting; ensures the Board records, correspondence, minutes and activities are maintained.
    • Works with the President and Board Chair on meeting schedules and communications.
    • Works on behalf of the President & CEO to ensure Board policy and report documentation is complete.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Human Resources Generalist

    The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.

    • Provides new staff orientation, refines onboarding procedures, and implements offboarding standards.
    • Maintain HRIS systems and employee records in accordance with legal and company standards.
    • Addresses and documents any employment relations issues or grievances.
    • Processes all personnel action forms and ensures proper approval, i.e. Performance Plans, Wage Change Forms, Disciplinary Action forms, etc.
    • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; maintains handbook on policies and procedures. Writes, revises, edits, and proofreads these policies and procedures and related documents as needed.
    • Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
    • Liaison to benefits providers and broker.
    • Manages annual benefits open enrollment period, including arranging for distribution of plan summary materials and required notices, assisting with communication of changes to employees, and processing changes within deadlines.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree is required.
    • 3+ years of experience supporting C-level executives, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
    • 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator role.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with people at all levels of an organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently within interpretive guidelines, take initiative, and perform effectively in fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent responsive customer service focus and great team player.
    • High level of discretion, integrity, and professional maturity.
    • Excellent computer skills: proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, with particular expertise in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
    • Knowledge of HR laws, best practices, and systems (e.g., Paycor, Paychex, ADP).
