    L4GG is hiring a full-time Major Gift Officer to lead our major donor cultivation efforts and expand our corporate giving program. The person who succeeds in this role will have excellent relationship-building skills, fundraising experience, and demonstrate a strong commitment to L4GG's mission of mobilizing lawyers and advocates for human rights and equality under the law. This position reports to the VP, Development and Engagement and will be on a team of 4 development professionals.

    Specific Job Responsibilities include:

    Major Donor Development (40%)

    • Implement and maintain a moves management system for major donor prospects and current donors
    • Cultivate relationships with major donors ($10,000+) through personalized outreach, meetings, and communications
    • Create donor stewardship materials including impact reports, updates, and recognition opportunities
    • Support major donor communications through drafting personalized correspondence and updates
    • Conduct personal solicitations of major gifts ($10,000+)
    • Manage and grow the Advisory Council as a portfolio of key supporter

    Corporate Giving & Law Firm Partnerships (25%)

    • Oversee our Pro Bono Partner (law firm and corporate legal department) giving pipeline, in close consultation with Director, Pro Bono Initiatives
    • Support production of Pro Bono Awards
    • Develop and implement a non-legal corporate giving pipeline strategy
    • Create compelling materials for law firm and corporate prospects
    • Identify and pursue corporate sponsorship opportunities
    • Build relationships with corporate social responsibility officers

    Grassroots & Mid-Level Giving (15%)

    • Work with Development Coordinator to develop and implement a mid-level donor program ($1,000-$9,999)
    • Create and execute strategies to grow monthly giving program, supported by Development Coordinator
    • Develop online fundraising campaigns throughout the year
    • Optimize digital fundraising channels and strategies
    • Manage peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, including donor coaching and platform management

    Events & General Fundraising (20%)

    • Project manage the production of the 10th Anniversary celebration in 2026, with the full support of other members of the Development team and external consultant(s)
    • Support planning of additional in-person fundraising and donor events
    • Coordinate and assist with Advisory Council and Board meeting preparation and outreach
    • Help ensure consistent messaging across all fundraising channels
    • Other duties as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
    • 4-6 years of nonprofit development experience, with demonstrated success in major gift fundraising
    • Proven track record of cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals and securing major gifts
    • Ability to travel for funder meetings as necessary, estimated at 5-10%
    • Experience implementing moves management systems for donor cultivation
    • Strong understanding of corporate giving strategies and approaches
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build authentic relationships with donors
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with donor databases (Kindful, Bloomerang, Salesforce, or similar platforms)
    • Commitment to L4GG's mission and understanding of social justice issues
    • Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Proficiency with G-Suite, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Share Drives
    • Access to a quiet workspace with high-speed internet and ability to participate in video conferences

    Desired qualifications:

    • CFRE certification or other fundraising credentials
    • Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns and monthly giving programs
    • Previous remote work experience
    • Familiarity with L4GG's programmatic issue areas
    • Experience with Asana, Slack, Airtable, and other remote collaboration tools
    • Comfort with digital fundraising strategies and analytics

    Salary & Benefits:

    • Salary range: $100,000-$110,000 annually, depending on experience
    • 100% remote work environment
