Part-Time Leadership Workshop Co-Facilitator

OneWorld Now! is seeking an energetic, organized, and dedicated Part-Time Leadership Workshop Co-Facilitator to join us for our 2026-2027 After School Program.

As part of our after school program, students can earn high school world language credit by studying Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, or Russian. They can also opt to participate in credit-bearing Leadership workshops, which provide high school students with the tools, confidence, and support to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

The Co-Facilitator works in partnership with OneWorld Now!'s Student Recruitment & Leadership Program Associate, who leads the Leadership Program. We are looking for someone with strong facilitation skills who can help deliver our existing curriculum.

Main Responsibilities

Workshop Facilitation

• Co-facilitate Leadership Program workshops with the Leadership Program Associate, sharing responsibility for leading activities and managing the group.
• With Leadership Program Associate, adapt existing lesson plans for individual workshops.
• Support the Pod Leader (peer mentor) program by training Pod Leaders on facilitation, collaborating on workshop creation, and planning Pod Leader meetings.

Program Support & Administration

• Support safety and wellbeing of program participants.
• Help with session logistics, including setup, cleanup, and material preparation.
• Maintain attendance records and follow up with absent students.
• Support the planning and delivery of Get Global, the annual leadership showcase, held in May.
• Take on additional administrative support of the Leadership Program as hours allow, by agreement.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience facilitating workshops, classes, or trainings for groups of youth.
• Experience working with diverse groups of young people, with sensitivity to and respect for different cultures and communication styles.
• Comfort managing a group of high school students, in person and online.
• Passionate commitment to racial, social, and economic justice.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently, communicate well, and manage time effectively.
• Experience with Google Workspace and Zoom, and/or ability to learn new technology platforms.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to get certified before the first in-person workshop on October 30, 2026 (OneWorld Now! covers the cost).

Preferred Characteristics

• Background in teaching, youth programming, or counseling.
• Event planning experience.
• Excellent role model for youth; demonstrated integrity and commitment; dynamic, engaging personality.
• International or intercultural experience.
• Command of multiple languages, such as OneWorld Now! target languages (Arabic, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, or Russian) or languages commonly spoken in Seattle.

Commitment

Average 5 to 7 hours per week, with the opportunity to expand hours by agreement. This is a Seattle-based position, and candidates must live in the Seattle area to co-facilitate the in-person workshops. Workshops take place on Fridays from 5-6:30 PM weekly from October 23rd, 2026 - June 4th, 2027 (excluding Seattle Public Schools holidays), alternating between an in-person cohort at Franklin High School (3013 S Mt Baker Blvd, Seattle, WA 98144) and a virtual cohort on Zoom. For in-person workshops, plan to arrive by 4:30 PM to help set up and to stay until about 7:00 PM to clean up. Online workshops need about 15 minutes before and after each session. Planning time with Leadership Program Associate is flexible. The role runs from October 2026 through June 2027 and can fit alongside a full-time job or a graduate program.

Hours and Pay Rate

Non-exempt, part-time hourly position at $26.00 per hour, plus up to $100 in transportation reimbursement or an ORCA pass per school year. Dinner is provided at in-person workshops. Must be authorized to work in the United States; OneWorld Now! does not sponsor visa applications or petitions. A background check is required for all adults working with students.
