    Descrição

    The Center for Workers’ Rights (CWR) seeks an experienced, values-driven Operations Manager to lead operational, financial, and administrative functions that support CWR’s programs and advocacy. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role ensures strong systems, compliance, and organizational infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities

    Organizational Administration and Operations

    • Assist the Executive Director in examining, developing, implementing, documenting, and communicating the goals, priorities, workflows and values of the organization.
    • Manage CWR’s Sacramento office, including relationships with the landlord and vendors, and oversee building operations such as leases, repairs, and upgrades.
    • Maintain core systems that support high-performing teams, including Salesforce, Google Workspace, Asana, and other operational tools.
    • Implement and maintain office technologies and digital systems to improve efficiency, ensuring systems are secure, current, and well-documented.
    • Provide scheduling, logistical, and technical support to staff as needed.
    • Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts for cost-effective services, including technology, printing, translation, and facilities.
    • Support the Executive Director and Board to ensure compliance with governance, legal, and regulatory requirements.

    Financial Management and Development

    • Contribute to organizational financial planning, oversight, and internal controls.
    • Support budget development, financial reporting, and compliance in partnership with the Executive Director and external accountants or bookkeepers.
    • Promote organizational sustainability by identifying funding opportunities and coordinating grant application processes, including financial planning and compliance requirements.
    • Coordinate grant and contract compliance with program staff, including tracking deliverables and supporting or completing required financial and administrative reporting.
    • Track donor engagement and contributions and support the planning and execution of fundraising strategies and activities.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures that support transparency and accountability.

    Human Resources

    • Maintain and update personnel job descriptions, employee handbooks/manuals, and employment policies, ensuring consistency with employment laws, organizational needs, and the staff union’s collective bargaining agreement.
    • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of staff, ensuring a consistent and supportive experience.
    • Oversee biweekly payroll processing and partner with external vendors to administer employee benefits, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
    • Assist in building systems that support staff development, equity, and a healthy workplace culture.

    Communications Support

    • Help gather and organize impact stories, photos, and quotes from program participants to support funder communications, the website, and social media.
    • Support the organization’s external communications strategy, including development and maintenance of outreach and promotional materials.
    • Maintain and regularly update the organization’s CRM to ensure accurate contact data and effective communications with key audiences.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and an understanding of issues facing low-wage workers and immigrant communities.
    • At least 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit operations, administration, finance, or organizational management.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Experience supporting financial systems, budgets, grants, or compliance in a nonprofit setting.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools, and confidence learning new systems quickly.
    • Experience with CRM, project management, or financial systems strongly preferred.
