The Senior Manager of Professional Groups is a a highly visible role that reports to and collaborates with the VP of Development & Professional Groups to lead day-to-day management of our affinity and professional groups (Women in the Footwear Industry & Human Resources). This role will execute a strategic plan and deliver against program goals to further elevate and scale these groups. You’ll own the operations for these programs including planning and delivering in-person and virtual events (networking, leadership summits, panels, etc.), coordinating stakeholders (Advisory Board & Leadership Council), and ensuring consistent, high-quality member experiences. As the programs grow, you’ll continuously improve processes, tools, and frameworks to scale impact efficiently.
This role requires a proactive, dynamic leader who thrives in an execution-focused environment, turning strategy into clear plans, timelines, and measurable outcomes. You bring strong program and event operations, stakeholder management, and a continuous-improvement mindset to strengthen engagement and expand reach. You’re also energized by identifying what’s working, what’s not, and where new approaches, partnerships, and scalable program models can unlock greater professional development and community across the footwear industry.
Location: Remote (Home base must be between Washington, D.C. and Maine)

About the Role:
What You’ll Do:
- Program Execution & Operations: Execute an established strategic plan for Women in the Footwear Industry (WIFI) and Human Resources (HR) community groups; manage timelines, budgets, vendors, and logistics to ensure consistent delivery of initiatives already underway.
- Content & Program Design: Develop and refine programming and content for in-person and virtual events, ensuring relevance to member needs and alignment to organizational goals.
- Community & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for WIFI and HR; strengthen engagement with Advisory Board and Leadership Council members, volunteers, and corporate partners.
- Conference and Meeting Management: Plan and execute Leadership Summits and board/council meetings, as well as a series of virtual and in-person networking events, with strong attendee experience and reliable follow-through.
- Marketing & Communications Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and communications to develop outreach strategies, promotional materials, newsletters, and social content that drive participation and retention.
- Measurement, Evaluation & Reporting: Track program performance using clear KPIs and feedback loops; translate insights into recommendations that improve outcomes and inform future planning.
- Scaling & Continuous Improvement: Build repeatable toolkits, templates, and systems to scale programs efficiently; identify opportunities to streamline operations and expand reach without sacrificing quality.
- Partnership Development & Activation: Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners and sponsors; develop scalable partner activation packages and engagement strategies to sustain participation.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 6–8 years of experience in program/project management, events, marketing/communications, and/or community relations.
- Experience executing a roadmap with multiple concurrent initiatives—translating strategy into workplans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Conference/event planning experience (virtual and in-person).
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with senior leaders, advisory groups, and corporate partners.
- Demonstrated ability to build repeatable processes, templates, and frameworks to scale programs.
- Comfort with measurement and reporting (e.g., engagement metrics, survey insights, dashboards) to evaluate impact and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience partnering with marketing/communications to develop outreach strategies, promotional materials, newsletters, and/or social content.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Tech savvy; strong Microsoft Office skills and comfort learning new tools and database/CRM systems.
- Nonprofit experience is helpful but not required.
Requirements:
This is a remote position, with quarterly travel required to our Waltham, MA corporate office and travel to Atlanta, Charlotte, and other markets for events, or elsewhere as determined by the organization.
