The Las Vegas NM Community Foundation seeks a full-time Executive Director to serve as its chief executive officer, partnering with the Board of Directors, staff, donors, and community leaders to advance the Foundation's mission of philanthropic service to San Miguel and Mora Counties. The ED provides strategic and operational leadership, cultivates philanthropic investment, and serves as a trusted community partner and catalyst for community impact.
Core duties include leading fundraising and donor cultivation, overseeing grantmaking and scholarship programs, and managing the Foundation's finances, budget, and staff. The ED represents the Foundation regionally, building relationships with nonprofits, government, and business, and supports the Board in governance and strategic planning. Additional responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining internal controls, overseeing facilities, and supporting long-term sustainability through endowment growth and planned giving.
This position is based in Las Vegas, NM, with on-site presence required and some remote flexibility when appropriate. Regular regional travel, occasional evenings/weekends, and a valid driver's license are expected. Candidates should have 5+ years of nonprofit leadership experience; familiarity with northern New Mexico's rural, multicultural communities is genuinely preferred, though not required. Salary: $75,000–$105,000, commensurate with experience, plus benefits to be negotiated.
Main Responsibilities
The Executive Director provides strategic and operational leadership, financial management, and staff supervision for the Foundation. They cultivate donor relationships, lead fundraising, and oversee grantmaking aligned with community priorities. They serve as the Foundation's primary representative, building partnerships across nonprofits, government, and business, while supporting Board governance and strategic decision-making.
Secondary Responsibilities
Additional duties include ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, maintaining internal controls, and overseeing facilities and vendor relationships. The ED supports Board recruitment, orientation, and materials preparation; fosters staff growth through coaching and professional development; monitors community impact and outcomes; and supports endowment growth and planned giving for long-term sustainability efforts.
