Reports to: Director of Advocacy, American Families for Vaccines
American Families for Vaccines (AFV) is a fast-growing, mission-driven organization mobilizing families, clinicians, and communities to support pro-vaccine policy and defeat anti-vaccine extremism. Our state chapters defend strong vaccine policy, fight misinformation, and advocate for evidence-based public health. As we scale both our 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities, we are expanding our national infrastructure and growing the number of state-based Families for Vaccines chapters.
The Co-Director for Louisiana Families for Vaccines will serve as the organization’s lead strategic policy director, working alongside a Co-Director focused on grassroots organizing and community mobilization. This full-time, senior-level position centers on policy strategy, legislative engagement, and high-level state leadership.
The Policy Co-Director must live in or close enough to the state capitol to travel there frequently, as this role requires regular presence at the legislature, agency meetings, coalition briefings, and rapid-response policy events.
The Co-Director will help shape and execute statewide strategy, oversee legislative and regulatory work, represent the organization in policy and media spaces, and collaborate closely with the Organizing Co-Director to ensure seamless alignment between grassroots power-building and policy impact.
This is a high-autonomy role ideal for someone who excels at strategic thinking, relationship-building, and navigating complex political environments.
