    Family Support Specialist

    TWO POSITIONS - FT/PT and North Bend/Carnation

    Location: North Bend, WA

    Job Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week, 43 weeks/year

    Pay: $24.67 - $34.68/hr; $42,432 - $59,650 annually, DOE.

    At Encompass, we believe in the power of families and the strength of community. As a Family Support Specialist, you’ll be a trusted partner to families with young children, helping them navigate challenges, set goals, and access resources that support lifelong success.

    This role is part of our Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) and also supports families across other early learning, child development, and family services programs. If you’re passionate about social work, case management, and community outreach, we’d love to meet you!

    What You’ll Do

      • Family Engagement & Outreach: Lead recruitment and enrollment efforts, conduct eligibility interviews, and welcome families into the program.
      • Case Management & Goal Setting: Partner with families to create personalized Family Goal Plans and connect them with community resources.
      • Crisis Support & Referrals: Provide crisis intervention and referrals to emergency services.
      • Parent Involvement & Advocacy: Foster strong partnerships with parents, staff, and community organizations.
      • Event Planning & Facilitation: Plan and host family events that reflect parent interests and promote connection.
      • Data Entry & Documentation: Maintain accurate records and submit reports in alignment with ECEAP standards.
      • Team Collaboration: Work closely with preschool, therapy, and support staff to ensure consistent services. Provide occasional coverage for assistant teachers to ensure continuity of classroom activities and student supervision.

    What You Bring

      • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field
      • 2+ years of experience working with low-income families, at-risk populations, or in family support services
      • Strong knowledge of community resources, human services systems, and family advocacy
      • Excellent communication and organizational skills
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
      • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
      • Reliable transportation and valid WA driver’s license
      • Bonus: Bilingual Spanish skills

    Certifications & Requirements

    Before your first day:

      • TB screening & MMR documentation
      • DCYF Portable Background Check
      • MERIT registration & STARTS ID
      • Food & Beverage Handler’s Permit

    Within 45 days of hire:

      • First Aid & CPR certification
      • Additional training as required
