    Descrição

    Position Overview

New Sector Alliance seeks a motivated and talented leader and hands-on doer to join our small, nimble team as Chief of Staff & Program Lead (75-100% FTE). The Chief of Staff (CoS) will partner closely with our CEO and play an instrumental role in New Sector’s overall success. We are looking for a driven self-starter who can bring thoughtfulness, structure, efficiency, and operational rigor to our small team. The CoS will be responsible for program and project management, supporting programs, fundraising, and operations across the organization. The CoS will directly supervise our Operations & Administrative Manager and work closely with our Partnership Development Director to get things done.

Given our big mission and small team, this role requires someone who is flexible, resilient, eager to work in a “startup 2.0” environment, and able to juggle multiple priorities, projects, and people simultaneously.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

    Strategy & Execution

    • Partner with the CEO to define New Sector’s strategy and evolving priorities, ensuring alignment across the team and tracking progress on projects, programs, and initiatives.
    • Streamline internal processes and work closely with our Operations & Administrative Manager and Partnership Development Director to get stuff done – moving the organization and team from ideation to action.
    • Help identify and lead new initiatives that are critical to New Sector’s success.

    Program Leadership & Management

    • Own and execute all aspects of the Leadership Longevity Fellowship program, including Fellow selection, program delivery, and program evaluation, with support from the Operations & Administrative Manager.
    • Plan and execute in-person fellowship events, including Kick-off, Closing, and the Annual Convening, with support from the Operations & Administrative Manager.
    • Recruit and manage facilitators/coaches for national and place-based cohorts, leading regular facilitator/coach meetings to coordinate roles, address curriculum updates, and support Fellow engagement.
    • Prepare and maintain curricular materials, including slides, facilitator guides, and handouts, with support from the Operations & Administrative Manager.
    • Write and manage program communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and engagement.
    • Utilize data insights to refine program delivery and impact; develop reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Engage alumni and manage our New Sector community broadly, including alumni communications, managing the LinkedIn group, and facilitating in-person and virtual networking opportunities, with support from the Operations & Administrative Manager.

    Communications, Marketing, and Fundraising

    • Serve as program/project manager for fundraising, establishing priorities, objectives, and working with the Partnership Development Director and Founder/CEO to track progress and ensure successful execution.
    • Oversee, manage, and write communications, with execution support from the Administrative & Operations Manager; this includes email newsletters, website content, and media opportunities such as Inside Philanthropy.
    • Write emails and other communications on behalf of the Founder/CEO. Partner with and support the Founder/CEO to create thought leadership, including content for OpEds, articles, and/or a book on Leadership Longevity.
    • Produce compelling written and visual content and marketing collateral, such as blog posts, testimonials, videos, and infographics, to engage our audience and showcase New Sector’s impact for fundraising and promotional purposes.
    • Write funder communications and grant proposals as needed.

    Operations & Team Management

    • Supervise and support the Administrative and Operations Manager to ensure the smooth execution of programs and operations.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations in partnership with the Administrative & Operations Manager to ensure timely and efficient program delivery.
    • Support additional projects and tasks as needed to support the organization’s mission.

Please note that this role description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee in this role. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned based on evolving business needs.

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications

    • Flexible and adaptive work style with the ability to enthusiastically, efficiently, and effectively “get stuff done” in a startup-like, resource-constrained environment.
    • 7+ years of professional experience in relevant roles.
    • Strong background in program, project, and stakeholder management to drive initiatives from idea to execution.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability and enthusiasm to write emails, blog posts/articles, and other communications on behalf of the Founder/CEO.
    • Detail-oriented, deadline-oriented, and able to manage multiple competing priorities.
    • Experience with curriculum development, program delivery, and facilitation preferred.
    • Ability to work in a remote environment independently without close oversight, while also being a collaborative team player who productively engages with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside New Sector Alliance.
    • Vault-like ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Interest in making a long-term career commitment to New Sector as it evolves over time.

    Compensation and Schedule

    • The compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
    • We are open to considering both full-time (100%) and part-time (75%+) candidates. The compensation would be prorated based on the agreed-upon schedule.
    • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm Central Time, with some exceptions due to business needs.
