    Youth Empowerment for Advancement Hangout (YEAH Philly) is a Black-led organization working with young people ages 15 to 24 in the legal system for a violent or gun crime. YEAH operates at the intersection of healing, advocacy, and research through three interconnected areas:

    1. Violence Crime Initiative (VCI): Community-based violence prevention that provides legal representation and court advocacy, individualized case management, employment, and holistic support for teens and young adults most impacted by violence and in the juvenile system for a violent or gun crime. VCI is the model of what real community safety looks like.
    2. Juvenile Probation Accountability Coalition (JPAC): A partnership collective between YEAH Philly and The Gault Center working with impacted young people to dismantle juvenile probation and co-designing new systems of accountability rooted in community healing and leadership.
    3. Research, Data, and Storytelling: Youth-led research and storytelling that informs the field, creates best practices, documents lived experiences, exposes system harms, and influences public policy.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The program staff supervisor will provide support and directly supervise program, case management, education, and court advocate staff. Examples of duties include providing weekly supervision meetings with staff, conducting staff evaluations, creating and implementing performance and improvement plans, debriefing and assisting with case reviews or problem solving issues that may arise with clients. This position will directly supervise up to 15 program staff at a time.

    Job Requirements and Skills: Philadelphia residency or becoming a resident within 6 months is required. Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred. Candidates must have a demonstrated background and expertise of supervising people directly related to program and direct service with three years of formal supervisory experience. Ability to lead a staff of professionals and paraprofessionals and have clinical expertise in crisis intervention. Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court and legal systems etc. Good organizational skills and administrative abilities, great problem solving abilities. Candidates must have the ability to work well independently with integrity and have the confidence and skills to manage their time effectively, take initiative, and supervise appropriately to support staff in their daily work.     Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provide day-to-day supervision of activities of a program; plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review the work of staff; develop and revise work processes; establish work schedules.
    • Provide or coordinate staff training.
    • Manage 30, 60, 90, and annual performance evaluations, and work with staff to build upon their strengths and correct deficiencies; monitor work performed to meet agreed upon goals and objectives, utilize supervision tools and documents.
    • Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities; recommend improvements and modifications; recommend and implement policies and procedures; assist in the development and administration of the budget; participate in forecasting additional funds for staffing and resources; and prepare various reports on operations and activities.
    • Recommend changes to improve service delivery and implement as needed.
    • Ensure continuity of care in the provision of comprehensive services and for coordinating communication with other service components.
    • Communicate with and provide support to HR staff with employee related matters.

    Benefícios

    Full-time with benefits package. Employer pays 80% of total PPO benefits package (health, dental, vision, FSA after 60 days completion of probationary period. 160 hours of PTO for the first two years (80 hours personal and 80 hours of set company days off (summer and winter), with paid company holidays off.
