    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Conexión Américas seeks qualified candidates for the position of Development Coordinator. The successful candidate is responsible for high-quality data and CRM management. This position helps to advance Conexión Américas’ mission by sustaining and expanding our community of supporters and fostering relationships that result in long-lasting goodwill and financial support for our mission. The Development Coordinator must have excellent project management skills, and will support the research and writing of high quality grant proposal and reports.

    This full-time position reports to the Associate Director of Development.

    Conexión Américas is a Latino nonprofit organization based in Nashville, TN. Our mission is to build a welcoming community and create opportunities where Latino families can belong, contribute and succeed. Our organization was founded in 2002 to address some of the most pressing challenges created by recent demographic changes in Middle Tennessee as an increasing number of Latino families come to this region searching for a better quality of life.

    We focus on four areas of community impact:

    Social Integration (family engagement, youth development and college access and success), Economic Integration (microentrepreneurship, financial education, English classes, digital literacy and tax. preparation), Civic Integration (advocacy and leadership development), and Community Development (arts and placemaking).

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    Grant Management

    • Manage grant pipeline ensuring that proposal and reporting deadlines are met.
    • Regularly update grant information in our CRM.
    • Assist Senior Director of Development and Strategic Growth in writing grant proposals.
    • Lead grant reporting and coordinate across programmatic teams to collect information for reporting in a timely fashion.
    • Lead the submission of invoices and the signing of grant contracts.
    • Track incoming funds and lead payment follow-ups.
    • Work with the programs team to ensure the timely submission of programmatic data through Salesforce and data tracking systems. Support the creation of reports and dashboards for programs to visualize and understand data.
    • Lead the regular pulling and analysis of programmatic data using Salesforce for reports and proposals.

    Data Management

    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date gift history, contact information, and other relevant data about the organization’s constituency using NationBuilder. Works proactively to maintain the integrity of the database, evaluating it for problems and needed information.
    • Process gifts (copies, records, assigns to proper accounts, etc.) to the organization and makes timely deposits and data entry for gifts, donor requests, and other data.
    • Implement systems to assure timely, accurate, and appropriate donor stewardship through donor thank you letters, and other strategies.
    • Generate lists of information, as requested, for mailings, electronic correspondence, donor recognition, invitations, etc.

    Community Engagement

    • Serve as a representative for Conexión Américas to build and strengthen relationships and expand our supporter base by participating in development booths and development-related speaking engagements, as needed.
    • Provide tours of Casa Azafrán.
    • Support coordination of the Casa Azafrán Art Gallery, including art gallery projects, booking, logistics, and the art gallery website.

    Event Planning and Support

    • Provide logistical support for annual fundraisers such as Cafecito, Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration & Awards Ceremony, and other development events.

    Job responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed above. As with every other position at Conexión Américas, every person in the organization will assist in any way necessary to respond to new demands and to ensure a cooperative environment.

    Qualifications (Education and Experience):

    • Bachelor's degree, required
    • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as needed
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in nonprofit fundraising, external relations, communications or related field
    • Exceptional written communications skills
    • Experience managing multiple projects and timelines
    • Data-driven mindset and proficiency working with data systems, including CRMs, Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel and strong data management and reporting skills
    • Capacity to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment
    • Must be comfortable conducting fundraising activities, including making asks via the phone, in-person and by other means of communication
    • Ability to effectively build and nurture relationships with diverse individuals
    • Capacity to be a “tough-minded optimist,” always acting to solve problems with energy and a positive attitude required
    • Enjoy working in fast-paced work environments
    • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
    • Willing and able to provide hands-on logistical support during event planning
    • Self-motivated, well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
    • Must thrive in a flexible highly collaborative work environment
    • Must pass background check
    • Must have access to reliable transportation
    • Strong understanding of Latino culture and Latino issues in the US, preferred

    • As applicable, some flexibility can take place on a regular 9-5 pm schedule from Mondays to Fridays, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed

    • The hybrid workplace model involves two flexible days working remotely from home and three days per week working in the office, subject to workload responsibilities and organizational needs.
