    Descrição

The CFE Fund is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) team to support high-quality implementation of the FEC model across a growing network of local partners. FECs provide professional, one-on-one financial counseling as a free public service to enable residents to address their financial challenges and plan for their futures. There are over 40 cities and counties with municipally-led FECs, with dozens more municipalities engaged in the planning process.

The Senior Associate reports to a FEC Principal and will play a key role in strengthening operational systems across the national FEC network. This position will act as a liaison between the FEC Program and Data Systems teams and will be responsible for developing tools, training, and technical assistance that support FEC grantees in effectively using the FEC Salesforce database (‘FECBOT’), used to capture client outcomes, monitor program performance, and communicate program impact. This role also includes supporting program administration and operational systems, and delivering individual technical assistance to grantees to support effective program implementation and growth.

The ideal candidate brings experience delivering training or technical assistance and managing operational systems that help programs run effectively. Success in this role requires comfort working with systems and data, and balancing external partner engagement with internal administrative processes that support strong program implementation.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Building Grantee Data Capacity

    • Support grantees in using Salesforce reports and dashboards to monitor performance and improve service delivery.
    • Design and lead structured support opportunities for grantees — such as live trainings, mock counseling sessions, regular office hours, or learning community calls — to elevate best practices in effective FEC database (‘FECBOT’) usage.
    • Develop practical training resources (videos, written guides, practice activities, online materials) to address common database usage challenges.
    • Collaborate closely with the CFE Fund Data Systems team.

    Program Administration & Operational Systems

    • Oversee and continuously improve training systems, standards, and processes for FEC grantees, including onboarding, certification tracking, exam grading, and management of approved training providers and consultants.
    • Collaborate with the Data Systems team to identify opportunities where system improvements to streamline operations could support program implementation.
    • Contribute to strategic discussions on program and grantee performance, sustainability, and model enhancements.
    • Coordinate logistics for training, learning community events, and in-person convenings.

    Grantee Programmatic Support

    • Support technical assistance delivery to a portfolio of FEC grantees, including new and existing partners that have launched FECs or are planning to launch an FEC in their municipality.
    • Facilitate regular one-on-one technical assistance calls with grantees and be available via email to support strategic planning and program development, share best practices, ensure alignment to the FEC model, and troubleshoot emerging issues.
    • Participate in site visits to cities and counties, supporting FEC partners in understanding and implementing the FEC model.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management, human services, social work, or a related field, or at least six years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
    • A minimum of five years of relevant experience delivering training and/or technical assistance to diverse stakeholders.
    • Experience supporting program implementation across multiple sites or partners.
    • Familiarity with financial empowerment, asset-building programs, anti-poverty efforts, and/or community development.
    • Demonstrated experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or database systems (Salesforce preferred).
    • Ability to translate technical tools, data, or reporting systems into practical guidance that helps program staff monitor performance and improve service delivery.
    • Ability to work closely with technical staff to translate program needs into system improvements, without the responsibility for backend system administration.
    • Experience training adult learners with varying levels of technical comfort and developing training materials or learning resources.
    • Experience building, managing, or improving operational systems and workflows that support program implementation at scale.
    • Curiosity and initiative in identifying opportunities to strengthen systems and processes.
    • Ability to balance external-facing technical assistance with internal systems and process management.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Location

This is a New York City-based role, although exceptional candidates who must live elsewhere may be considered. New York City-based staff have the option of working in person from our NYC headquarters, or may elect a hybrid office/remote work schedule with office presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Remote employees must secure their own work environments and travel approximately monthly at the CFE Fund’s expense to NYC to meet with teammates.
