    We are seeking a strategic and creative Email Marketing Manager to lead our end-to-end email marketing process, including campaign planning, development, execution, and performance analysis.

    This role is pivotal in engaging supporters, driving fundraising efforts, and expanding our reach. The ideal candidate is an exceptional storyteller with broad email marketing knowledge who takes initiative and learns independently.

    Experience creating email marketing campaigns for nonprofits or mission-driven organizations is preferred.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategy & Planning:
      • Develop and manage the organization's email marketing strategy to support goals
      • Own the end-to-end email marketing process, including campaign planning, design, setup, execution, and performance analysis
      • Stay up-to-date with email marketing trends, tools, and technologies to keep campaigns innovative and effective
    • Copywriting & Content Creation
      • Write engaging, on-brand copy for all loyalty email communications including weekly newsletters, updates, stewardship, automated email journeys
      • Partner with Director of Development to develop and amplify compelling fundraising appeals that resonate with supporters and inspire giving
      • Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure consistent messaging across channels
      • Strategically repurpose and leverage existing assets and storytelling into email specific content
      • Craft compelling headlines, subject lines, and preview text to drive audience engagement
      • Edit and proofread all copy to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand standards
    • Design & Execution
      • Expertly design and optimize responsive email templates with compelling visual hierarchy that align with Flatbush Cats’ look and feel
      • Ensure email templates are responsive, mobile-friendly, and visually appealing across all devices
    • List Growth & Optimization:
      • Create and manage segmented email campaigns tailored to specific audience personas to ensure the highest engagement and conversion rates
      • Personalize email content using dynamic elements to create a more tailored and impactful customer experience
      • Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, copy, layouts, and CTAs to continuously improve open rates, click-through rates, and conversion metrics
      • Monitor email deliverability and maintain a healthy subscriber list by implementing best practices in list hygiene and spam compliance
      • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop integrated strategies that drive subscriber acquisition and engagement through targeted petition campaigns, organic social media, and event-driven nurture sequences
    • Analytics & Reporting:
      • Track and report on key email marketing metrics
      • Generate performance reports and recommendations for the marketing team, specializing in donation attribution tracking, donation technology integration, and conversion optimization.
      • Use data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, ensuring continuous optimization of email campaigns
      • Collaborate with wider organizations to ensure email performance insights inform broader marketing strategies
    • Audience Journey Optimization & Growth
      • Support the recommendation, development, and execution of additional digital channels, including SMS campaigns to complement email efforts

    Qualifications

    • Experience:
      • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent professional experience demonstrating comparable skills and knowledge.
      • 3+ years of experience in email marketing, preferably within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization. Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and audience engagement strategies is strongly preferred.
    • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to convey complex information through impactful email copy across short-form and long-form formats. Expert at proofreading, tracking revisions, and maintaining brand consistency.
    • Strong internal communications skills, with a focus on cross functional teamwork
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
    • Comfortable with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp), CRM systems (Salesforce), and fundraising platforms (Classy), understanding automation workflows, A/B testing, segmentation, and dynamic content.
    • Some experience with interpreting data, creating insights, and driving recommendations for improvements.

    Nice-to-haves

    • Working knowledge of HTML to edit and customize email templates for design optimization
    • Proficient with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or Figma to create or collaborate on compelling email assets
    • Experience with paid advertising strategies focused on list growth and audience acquisition
    • Understanding of SEO principles and ability to integrate them strategically into email content for improved visibility and engagement
