Squash on Track seeks a visionary, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented leader to serve as Executive Director. The Executive Director will assume full operational leadership of a high-impact nonprofit team, managing programmatic execution, facility partnership integration at Squash Zone, and working in close alignment with the Board of Directors to achieve fundraising, compliance, and multi-year strategic growth goals.
Founded in 2018, Squash on Track is a non-profit after-school enrichment program guided by the mission to improve the lives of youth in Redwood City and its surrounding communities. Students in the program learn how to play squash, receive academic and other support tailored to their needs, and become part of a supportive community centered at Squash Zone, a state-of-the-art squash center with nine squash courts and dedicated academic space. With an operating budget of $350,000, Squash on Track enrolls approximately 20 elementary and middle school students and aims to expand to at least 40 students by 2028.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and run the daily youth program in a manner which ensures exceptional programming, maximum enrollment, and excellent attendance, in-year and longitudinal retention.
- Lead a comprehensive development/fundraising effort to build the financial assets of the organization by raising an annual surplus and undertaking capital and endowment campaigns as required.
- Lead and develop SoT personnel to ensure the attraction, development, and retention of top talent and longevity of leadership within the organization.
- Oversee, manage, and maintain the organization’s physical assets and facility needs.
- Oversee all matters of fiscal and legal compliance for the organization, ensuring comprehensive “good standing.”
- Develop the Board of Directors and work closely with them to build the organization.
- Evaluate the program’s impact on its students and other constituents, and share the details of such impact with the Board of Directors annually.
- Work with the SoT community and Board of Directors to develop a strategic plan, and subsequently execute toward plan goals.
Qualifications & Core Competencies
- Education & Leadership: Bachelor’s degree is a baseline, however, exceptional professional achievement or other qualifications will be considered (graduate degree a plus). Proven success managing, developing, and inspiring a professional nonprofit or sports-based youth development team.
- Mission Alignment: Understanding of and commitment to the “squash and education” model. Extensive experience working with under-resourced youth, building parental relationships, and operating effectively across lines of cultural and socioeconomic difference.
- Squash Community Connection: Roots as a competitive squash player or coach a plus. Willingness to step in at all operational levels (as coach, tutor, or chaperone) when needed.
- Communication and Execution: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Entrepreneurial drive with the ability to work under pressure, delegate effectively, and manage complex, multi-stakeholder facility and community dynamics.

Nível de Proficiência do Idioma
