    Olympic Housing Trust

    Philanthropy and Grants Manager

Help fund permanently affordable homes in Jefferson & Clallam Counties

    Position Overview

Olympic Housing Trust (OHT) is a community land trust creating permanently affordable homeownership for working families across Jefferson and Clallam Counties. We are seeking a Philanthropy and Grants Manager to deepen our donor relationships and secure the grant funding that powers our mission.

Two priorities sit at the heart of this role: keeping our donors engaged and giving year after year, and writing winning grant proposals. You will work alongside the Executive Director on a small, dedicated team, where the funding you steward and secure translates directly into homes for local families.

    Position Details

    Status: Full-time, 30-40 hours/week, non-exempt

Pay: $33-$37 per hour, depending on experience

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Proposed Start Date: November 2026

Location: Jefferson or Clallam County, WA (in-person with some work-from-home flexibility)

    Primary Responsibilities

    Donor Retention & Stewardship

    • Responsible for all donor retention, including building and running a strategic stewardship plan that keeps donors and members engaged, renewing, and growing their giving year-over-year.
    • Ensure every gift is acknowledged promptly and personally, with thank-you’s and impact updates within a week of the contribution.
    • Cultivate one-on-one relationships with donors and members through various communication and in-person avenues. Identify and engage potential donors. Keep accurate records of all contact and giving histories.
    • Partner with the Executive Director to grow and retain major-donor relationships.

    Grant Writing & Management

    • Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to foundations, government, and other funders.
    • Manage the grants calendar, including tracking deadlines, applications, renewals, and funder requirements. Adhere to all deadlines and reporting requirements.
    • Prepare timely, accurate grant reports and maintain strong relationships with funders.

    Fundraising & Communications

    • Draft donor appeals (print and email) and coordinate the annual giving campaign alongside the Executive Director.
    • Help maintain donor-facing communications such as newsletters and impact stories.
    • Support fundraising events as needed.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Demonstrated success in donor retention and stewardship, showing an ability to renew and upgrade donors through consistent, personal relationship-building.
    • Proven grant writing experience, including researching, writing, submitting, and reporting on grants.
    • Clear, compelling writing skills to make a persuasive case for support.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to forge lasting, authentic relationships with donors and stakeholders.
    • Comfort with technology including a donor database/giving platform (e.g., Give Lively), Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines independently.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Preferred, but not required qualifications include:

    • Nonprofit and/or affordable-housing experience.
    • Donor communications, newsletter, or other professional writing experience.
    • Event planning and production experience.
    • Familiarity with tools like Mailchimp, Canva, or Stripe.

We recognize that talent comes in many forms. We encourage candidates to apply even if they don't meet all qualifications listed. We value diverse pathways and are committed to developing our team and offering opportunities for growth.
