    About the Role

    The Associate I, Programs, is responsible for coordinating a portfolio of partners and community initiatives within the West region as part of the Foundation’s Programs department. This role ensures high-quality customer service, program fidelity, and seamless execution of activations, while maintaining thorough documentation of program activities and outcomes. The Associate I will support operational excellence, strong partner relationships, and success of community initiatives within their assigned area.

    About the Team

    The Programs Department is responsible for operating, improving, and scaling the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s child-centered programs and adult learning trainings, to ensure that the Foundation remains at the forefront of the sports-based youth development (SBYD) field. This work involves curating SBYD best practices to innovate and tailor our curricula and training to meet the unique needs of underserved communities across the country. Designing and deploying pathways to scale, this team is responsible for driving the adoption of the U.S. Soccer Foundation methodology in youth serving marketplaces across the country.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate programmatic and community activations while supporting comprehensive reporting to internal and external stakeholders
    • Distribute survey tools and evaluation mechanisms, coordinate data collection, and support reporting on outcomes
    • Support vendor coordination for sourcing, ordering, and resolving issues related to apparel and equipment for community partners
    • Research, coordinate, and assist with planning and logistics for conferences and events
    • Collect and manage storytelling data from community partners to support funder engagement and enhance program visibility
    • Assist community partners in meeting their compliance requirements and maintaining program standards
    • Manage all monthly OJJDP reimbursement processes and record keeping with all participating sub-grantees; review and certify sub-grantee submitted financial documentation to ensure compliance and timely payments
    • Support sub-grantee agreement creation and execution as needed
    • Support the creation of OJJDP sub-grantee budget tools to ensure sub-grantees spend 100% of the OJJDP grant down in a timely fashion
    • Provide OJJDP financial and/or administrative technical support and trainings to sub-grantees on an as needed basis
    • Support the Foundation’s coach-mentor background check and abuse prevention screening process; review the Foundation’s background check vendor database and update corresponding coach-mentor records as needed
    • Support the Foundation’s OJJDP-site visit process to ensure Foundation meets all OJJDP-specific in-person reporting requirements
    • Support the creation/adaption of OJJDP-specific tools, such as site visit forms, training materials, financial guides, and administrative guides
    • Uphold and actively promote the goals, mission, and culture of the U.S. Soccer Foundation
    • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to advance the Foundation’s initiatives

    About You

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • 1+ years of professional experience in multi-market youth programming &/or project management and data collection
    • Experience with data management, data hygiene, and/or data collection
    • Knowledge of and experience in sports-based youth development programming
    • Demonstrated commitment to issues impacting children and families, specifically in underserved communities
    • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and culturally responsive working and learning environment
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments with multiple partners with diverse perspectives, utilizing a strong attention to detail
    • Self-starter, exhibiting a strong work ethic, ability to maximize work with minimal supervision
    • Exhibit a positive behavior and attitude, and model a mature and professional demeanor
    • Strong oral, written, research, and interpersonal skills
    • Willingness to provide and receive feedback in consistent ways
    • Proficiency in Microsoft, Salesforce, FormAssembly, and online platforms
    • Spanish and/or other language proficiency a plus
    • Ability to travel 30% of schedule, to include nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Understanding of and commitment to the U.S. Soccer Foundation mission
