    Part-Time – Contract Position

    Position Overview:

    The Program Support Associate provides flexible, reliable coverage across these programs, helping ensure consistency and high-quality experiences whenever additional support is needed. This role is ideal for someone creative, patient, playful, and eager to deepen their practice working with neurodivergent youth. Reporting to the Program Manager of Library Services and Community Partnerships, the Program Support Associate supports a wide range of interest-driven, sensory-friendly, movement, and social programs across multiple in-person and virtual sites.

    Position Details:

    • Status: Part-Time Employee
    • Reports to: Program Manager of Library Services & Community Partnerships
    • Location: Brooklyn-based role with travel throughout NYC
    • Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week
    • Compensation: $20/hour (based on experience)

    Key Responsibilities:

    Program Support & Coverage:

    • Provide flexible coverage and hands-on support across programs, including arts & crafts, sensory play, movement & music sessions, virtual clubs, and one-time events.
    • Step in to provide program coverage when staff are absent, or additional support is needed.
    • Follow pre-developed curriculum and activity plans to help maintain consistency, structure, and a supportive routine for participating youth.
    • Assist with setting up program spaces, preparing materials, supporting transitions, and helping clean up after sessions.
    • Support facilitators, interns, and volunteers during sessions to ensure programs run smoothly.

    Participant Engagement:

    • Build positive, caring relationships with youth and foster joyful, inclusive peer connections.
    • Support participants in engaging with activities in ways that honor their interests, communication styles, and sensory needs.
    • Help create a warm, welcoming environment where all children and families feel seen, safe, and supported.

    Family & Community Communication:

    • Communicate warmly and professionally with families, caregivers, partner site staff, volunteers, and community members.
    • Serve as a kind, respectful, mission-aligned representative of Extreme Kids & Crew at all program sites.

    Safety, Reliability & Team Collaboration:

    • Prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants by following organizational policies, procedures, and supervision protocols.
    • Maintain reliable, timely communication regarding scheduling, availability, and any program issues.
    • Collaborate with facilitators, interns, and staff to support smooth program operations.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in program coordination, community engagement, or event planning, preferably in a nonprofit or arts-based setting.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms.
    • Passion for disability advocacy, inclusion, and supporting joyful, interest-driven experiences for neurodiverse youth.
    • Conversational proficiency in Mandarin or Spanish is a plus.
    • Lived experience with neurodiversity or disability is highly encouraged.
