Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Development (DoD), and in partnership with the DoD and Executive Director, the Institutional Funding Manager will lead WAM’s institutional fundraising efforts and conduct the full range of activities required to research, prepare, submit, and track grant proposals, reports, budgets, agreements and contracts to current and prospective government, corporate, and foundation partners, including funder cultivation, stewardship, relationship management and communications. The successful candidate will be able to effectively synthesize information from past proposals to craft grant applications and reports in a clear, concise, and compelling manner and manage the pipeline of institutional funding requests that make up a significant portion of WAM’s revenue. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly organized, and have experience using online databases and other sources to research and track grants and prospects. This person must demonstrate initiative at all stages of the grant cycle, be knowledgeable of WAM’s work and programs, and is responsible for maximizing revenue potential. This position manages a high volume of funding opportunities, and the successful candidate will need to possess excellent writing skills demonstrate thorough research and analytical skills, have deep knowledge of the current funder landscape and fundraising methods, be committed to our mission of advancing women/girls/gender-expansive individuals in the fields of music, media, and technology, and excited to work with a fast-paced, growing, mission-driven non-profit organization. Please note this is a full-time, exempt hybrid (minimum 3 days/week in office) position based out of WAM’s San Francisco office and not remote.
