Organization: Trees New York is the leading environmental, urban forestry, tree stewardship and advocacy non-profit organization in NYC. Our mission is to plant, preserve, and protect New York City’s urban forest through education and community participation.
Urban Forest Fellowship, Trees New York Education Department
This 9-month fellowship will introduce participants to the urban forestry and informal environmental education space within NYC. The fellow will assist in delivering Trees New York’s educational programs to a Bronx focused youth audience in partnership with community partners such as NYC K-12 public schools, afterschool groups and programs, community centers and youth camps.
These educational programs include the Youth Environmental Literacy Program (YELP), community street tree stewardship projects and public stewardship events, the Young Urban Forester (YUF) Internship Program, and the Citizen Pruner Course.
