The Hudson River Foundation, a non-profit organization that inspires and informs action through science and engaging people to enhance the Hudson River, estuary, and watershed, is seeking a communications professional to assist us in our outreach. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience communicating science to non-expert audiences and the capacity to produce clear, concise, persuasive, and well-designed communications addressing complex issues and information. Excellent writing and editing skills are essential as is fluency with WordPress or similar website management tools, email newsletters, social media platforms and content, and email marketing tools. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team-based environment and a staff that is dedicated to achieving impacts in their individual work and through a variety of collaborative estuary research and management programs. Over our 40-year history, HRF has actively engaged with the research and management communities to provide research-based insights that have informed important policy and management decisions, and advanced significant research and restoration initiatives. HRF is the host of the NY-NJ Harbor & Estuary Program (HEP), and we work in collaboration with partners throughout the Hudson River Estuary in New York and New Jersey to achieve our shared missions.

Salary, Benefits, and Office Expectations. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits that include health, dental, and life insurance; paid vacation and a 403(b)-pension plan. The Associate is expected to be physically present in the Hudson River Foundation office in Lower Manhattan a minimum of two days a week. Salary: $65,000 to $75,000 depending on experience.
