    Job description:

    Job Title: Workforce Development Specialist

    Location: Travel to Seneca, Anderson, Easley, and Greenville

    (Reporting to and training at the Seneca Office)

    Job Description:

    The WFD Specialist’s responsibilities include coaching parents and young adults on career options and professional employment opportunities. They will build and facilitate partnerships with local businesses and job agency organizations for potential employment. Furthermore, they assess participant eligibility and suitability for various job related and educational programs, evaluate candidate backgrounds, and maintain records according to local and federal regulations.

    The WFD Specialist will coordinate and supervise career development and job search activities, provide case management, and support and assist with training implementation. They coordinate internships and employment placements to effectively prepare participants to gain employment upon program graduation, to be self-sufficient and thriving for their families. They also provide technical assistance, counsel participants, and track employment progress and success, reporting to the Program Director.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work with Ripple participants on resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, mock interviews, and soft skills, helping parents create career goals and provide guidance for the best job opportunities
    • Assist parents with identifying areas requiring further training or knowledge and support the development of personal and professional development plans, including co-op and internship opportunities
    • Teach parents to respond to job postings and help qualified parents connect with employers as well as targeting specific companies for job opportunities
    • Provide ongoing feedback to participants with respect to the individual job search process and skills development, planning to effectively prepare them to gain employment upon program graduation
    • Develop partnerships with educational institutions and local companies and implement experiential learning programs
    • Ensure accurate data entry and reporting of all activity into the career development database, including observation notes, career advancements/employment and job development activity, etc. Charity Tracker experience a plus
    • Work with care managers on parents’ life plan

    Hours:

    Typically work week Monday - Friday. Throughout the year we host several events that may require Saturday work. Advance notice is given.

    40 hour week with early evening hours based on the needs of the participants on your caseload.

    Qualifications:

    • Qualified candidates will have 3-5+ years' experience in HR, recruiting, employment agencies or program management.
    • Proven ability to mentor and coach individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage data, track progress, and report outcomes effectively.
    • Familiarity with workforce development tools and techniques, including soft skills training and job search strategies.
    • Positive, encouraging demeanor with a passion for helping others grow and succeed.
    • Experience with community outreach, employer engagement, or nonprofit programming preferred.
