    Descrição

    The Climate Solutions Coordinator (CSC) position reports to the Climate Solutions Specialist. The CSC helps promote the organization's long-term goals by performing programmatic assignments, such as project coordination and development, data analysis, written reporting, and grant-writing assistance. Their main focus are Carbon Crediting and related programs.

    This role has a 36 hour work week: 8 hours Monday through Thursday, 4 hours Fridays.

    Responsibilities

    Leadership & Management

    • Assist in the execution of several key programs and partnerships, upholding the organization’s standard of excellence and reputation in all activities
    • Report to the Climate Solutions Specialist and other project supervisors on a weekly basis to debrief activities
    • Report to the Climate Solutions Specialist for annual reviews and performance evaluations
    • Curate, cultivate, and offer feedback on work activities
    • Meeting or exceeding defined deliverables on fee-for-service or consultant projects
    • Tracking project budgets and expenditures

    Programmatic

    • (60%) Carbon Crediting and related programs
      • Coordinate day-to-day execution of project activities, including email follow-ups, project management through Asana and Google Drive, tracking deliverables, and ensuring quality communication standards with project partners
      • Compile, clean, and maintain project- and participant-related documents
      • Facilitate participant engagement and partnership building: tribal governments, local communities, technical experts, regulatory agencies, funders, and implementing partners
      • Maintain regulatory awareness: support compliance with the Climate Action Reserve’s (CAR’s) Climate Forward program, methodologies, and registry requirements
      • Contribute to communications and outreach: Prepare briefing materials, slide decks, newsletters, public presentations, and updates to share program impact, lessons learned, and successes
      • Manage contracting processes and coordinate with project partners, city agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure timely execution of project agreements and deliverables
      • Develop familiarity with carbon crediting registry standards for nature-based protocols within registries like American Carbon Registry (ACR), Verra and Climate Action Registry
      • Manage multiple tasks, adjust to shifting priorities, and work collaboratively with the team's needs
    • (40%) Business Development & Grant Writing Assistance
      • Support various aspects of GHG mitigation project development, such as feasibility assessment, planning, development, and implementation support for energy, nature-based, and/or urban forestry projects
      • Assist Climate Solutions Specialist and Climate Resolve’s Grants team with the development of new proposals and implementation of new projects
      • Support the Climate Solutions specialist with research to expand on Climate Resolve’s education and capacity building initiatives with Tribal partners on climate change resilience
      • Facilitate support on new project ideas, green infrastructure, funding, and Partnership development
      • Support other innovative Climate Solution projects to secure additional funding for initiatives with Tribal partners, local municipalities, public agencies, land conservancies, and private partners
      • Assist the Climate Solutions specialist with research and the pursuit of other opportunities

    Qualifications

    The Climate Solutions Coordinator will be thoroughly committed to Climate Resolve's mission. All candidates should have proven experience:

    Required

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Science, Natural Resources, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Water Resources, or related field
    • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in sustainability and climate-related programs coordination in the nonprofit, private, or public sector
    • Experience with greenhouse gas accounting, GHG inventories, regional GHG policies, and crediting methodologies used by reputable registries, such as CAR or Verra
    • Strong analytical, written, verbal communication, and research skills
    • Self-directed, flexible, and able to work under tight deadlines
    • A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well on a team, as well as independently
    • Experience with ArcGIS / QGIS and mapping tools
    • Experience/coursework with at least one programming languages (Python, R, Matlab)
    • Experience with designing presentations, communication materials like brochures and slide deck, Microsoft suite [word, Powerpoint and others] and Adobe
    • Familiarity with environmental data collection, modelling, and analysis
    • Knowledge and ability to communicate about GHG’s, carbon accounting, climate, land use, and/or public health and planning standards
    • Proficiency at being collegial and collaborative, forming and maintaining partnerships with diverse parties and constituencies
    • Understanding of project coordination and budgeting functions
    • Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple assignments, working well under pressure
    • Proficient in Airtable, Microsoft Office suite (such as Excel, Powerpoint, and others), and Google Drive
    • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion principles
    • Ability to travel locally as required for projects (Possession of a California Driver’s License (Class DL) is preferred)

    Preferred

    • Experience with feasibility study assessments, land use and land cover mapping, energy data analysis preferred
    • Familiarity with remote sensing and image analysis is a plus
    • Interest in or knowledge of urban forestry or urban tree-planting projects is a plus
