ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Institutional Giving Manager is an integral part of a team-oriented, results-driven Development department that raises $15 million annually. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, the Institutional Giving Manager will sit on a Development team of seven (7), and play a key role in the following activities: Ensuring that the Development department’s goals and objectives are achieved by focusing on writing foundation, government, and corporate giving grant requests; tracking and ensuring the timely adherence to proposals and reporting guidelines, deadlines and responsibilities; cultivating, stewarding and enhancing donor relationships that support AJSOCAL programs and services; and prospective donor research, identification, and outreach.
The Institutional Giving Manager works cross-functionally and with the Executive Leadership team to develop and achieve short and long-term development goals for the organization; this position also works with the organization’s strategic partners to identify donor programs, join initiatives, and enhance the organization’s marketability to potential donors.
The optimal person will have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in nonprofit Development/fundraising, grant writing, grants management, and/or institutional donor cultivation. They will be adept at: using both data and stories to write compelling funding requests, working across departments to gather information, and managing many funder deadlines simultaneously. Experience in AAPI/immigrant social service and/or legal assistance is not a necessity, but an interest in learning about and then becoming a champion for AJSOCAL’s mission are a must.
