    About Us:

The Center for Community Investment (CCI), a sponsored project at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, works to ensure that all communities, especially those that have suffered from structural racism and policies that have left them economically and socially isolated, can unlock the capital they need to thrive. Over the past eight years, CCI (www.centerforcommunityinvestment.org) has worked with leaders and communities across the country to help them identify their priorities, develop projects to advance those priorities, and strengthen their investment ecosystem to facilitate investment. With the support of major national foundations, CCI runs both individual leadership development programs as well as initiatives that help teams and partner organizations apply CCI’s Capital Absorption Framework, a tested approach to helping investment land in disadvantaged communities. CCI has used its approach to help communities build and preserve affordable housing, improve climate resilience, fight against displacement, and build household and community wealth. Alumni of CCI’s programs in foundations, government, financial institutions, and community organizations share a commitment to systems change and support each other through a growing network of leaders.

    Position Overview:

This summer, the Summer Intern will play a key supporting outreach and recruitment for Cohort 4 of our Field Catalyst program and Cohort 6 of our Fulcrum Fellowship program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the behind-the-scenes work that powers equity-centered leadership development. Ideal for someone interested in program design, professional learning, and social change, the role provides insight into what it takes to create impactful and inclusive leadership recruitment experiences.

    • Maintain accurate and organized digital files and records in shared systems (Google Suite, Microsoft Suite)
    • Provide logistical and general administrative support for our leadership program sessions and events
    • Assist with scheduling meetings, taking notes, and managing calendars
    • Help manage registration and on/off-boarding communications, and scheduling post-program surveys for the fellowship program
    • Support collection and basic analysis of program data (e.g. surveys, feedback forms)
    • Perform other administrative duties as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication – stays calm and effective when priorities shift, as they often do!
    • Experience/comfort with digital tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite, Canva)
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
    • A proactive, flexible, and collaborative work style
    • Interest in leadership development, equity, and social change
    • Experience with event or program coordination is a plus
    • Proactive, resourceful, solution-oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively
    • A sense of humor, creativity, and flexibility – important in a fast-paced team environment

    Opportunities:

    • Exposure to strategies for leadership development, adult learning, and equity-centered design
    • Experience supporting multi-sector partnerships and dynamic learning environments
    • Opportunity to attend an industry conference and network with leaders in the community investment field
