Outreach and Volunteer Manager – 12-Month Position

Housing and stipend provided – Live and work by the beach in El Porvenir, Honduras!

Honduras Child Alliance (HCA) is seeking a dedicated and community-focused Outreach and Volunteer Manager for a 12-month commitment. This dynamic role combines volunteer management, program engagement, and international outreach to support and grow the impact of our programs.

As the Outreach and Volunteer Manager, you’ll live beach-front with a private room and bath in one of our volunteer houses in El Porvenir, Atlántida, Honduras, where you’ll help create a welcoming and supportive environment for our international volunteers.

• Main Responsibilities

1. Educational

Program Participation (approx. 30%)

Be directly involved in HCA’s educational enrichment programs for children in grades 1–6. You’ll assist in teaching classes focused on English, literacy, nutrition, and more—building strong relationships with both students and fellow team members while staying closely connected to HCA’s mission.

Outreach & Development (approx. 40%)

Help expand HCA’s global reach and financial sustainability by:

• Helping to recruit international volunteers
• Creating engaging content for social media and newsletters
• Supporting fundraising and stewardship campaigns
• Assisting with grant writing and building relationships with funders
• Guiding local outreach efforts to strengthen community participation

Volunteer Management (approx. 30%)

You’ll play a key role in supporting our volunteers:

• Welcome and orient all incoming volunteers
• Provide ongoing support to ensure they feel at home and valued
• Help maintain a friendly, clean, and community-focused volunteer house
• Serve as a live-in point person for day-to-day questions and needs

• What We Provide:

• Free housing in a secure, comfortable volunteer house with Wi-Fi
• Weekly food stipend of 1500 HNL (about $60 USD) plus $200 USD toward each visa run (typically 2-3 over the course of a year).
• 5 Free conversational Spanish lessons with one of HCA's bilingual tutors
• Ongoing training and support from our leadership team
• A chance to build real-world skills in nonprofit leadership, cross-cultural communication, and digital outreach

• Qualifications:

• Minimum availability of 12 months
• Intermediate ability to speak Spanish and English (we can be flexible with this)
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Friendly, organized, and proactive
• Background in nonprofit work, education, social media, or volunteer coordination is a plus
• Comfortable living in a shared community environment
