Educational, Therapeutic & Social Support Internship

We are looking for interns interested in working in educational, therapeutic, and social inclusion contexts to support our partner organizations and contribute to their activities in the fields of education, neurodevelopment, disability support, social inclusion, and family-centered care in Agrigento, Sicily.

If you are a student or graduate passionate about education, psychology, and social inclusion, this opportunity is perfect for you. You will gain practical experience by supporting professionals working with neurodivergent children and their families in educational, therapeutic, and social contexts.

We collaborate with different facilities and organizations, and depending on your profile, your activities may focus more on therapeutic support, inclusive education, social engagement, or community-based interventions.

Your role

• Support educators, psychologists, therapists, and other professionals during individual and group activities with children, adolescents, and families
• Assist in preparing educational and therapeutic materials and setting up activity spaces
• Support educational, recreational, artistic, sports, and inclusive workshop activities focused on communication, autonomy, teamwork, and social inclusion
• Contribute to after-school support activities for students with Specific Learning Disabilities (DSA) and ADHD
• Participate in activities promoting the inclusion of children and young people with disabilities or developmental difficulties
• Observe professional practices, multidisciplinary interventions, and therapeutic approaches such as ABA and ESDM depending on placement
• Assist with note-taking, observation, monitoring activities, and follow-up tasks
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, psychologists, speech therapists, psychomotor therapists, and other professionals
• Support summer educational programs, community activities, and family-centered initiatives
• Contribute to creating supportive, inclusive, and engaging environments for participants and their families

Apply if this is you:

• You are currently studying or have a background in Education Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Pedagogy, or related fields
• You are an empathetic and patient person who enjoys working with children and wants to contribute to creating inclusive and supportive environments for them and their families
• You have a good command of either English, French, or Italian (minimum B1 level)

To ensure a smooth and successful internship, all our interns have access to the following resources:

• Shared accommodation in fully furnished apartments (utilities included)
• Italian language classes (beginner and intermediate levels)
• Administrative support throughout the internship
• Participation in cultural activities and events

Our Requirements:

• You are eligible for the Erasmus+ program or a similar international mobility program, which typically provide you with financial support
• You are available to spend at least 4 months in Agrigento
