JOB SUMMARY:
The Advisory Organization Content Development Intern will support the AO Team by turning existing content into engaging virtual learning experiences for adult learners.
Review existing training content on the AO HUB and compare this to the current needs of advisory organizations as reflected in the Standards of Excellence and LEAD Learning Library. Create curriculum and content to meet these needs.
Identify potential additional resources to fill gaps.
Refresh or overhaul existing content to make it relevant to present day circumstances.
Assist with administrative tasks, as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assumes other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and Project Management and the Advisory Organization Development & Volunteer Manager, or the NCRD Secretary.
Demonstrates dependability through attendance and punctuality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Familiarity with developing curricula and creating content for adult learners that can be delivered in an e-learning format.
An understanding of adult learning styles.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Good written and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to conduct online research.
Able to provide references.
Commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must be enrolled in a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to create engaging content for adult learners in an e-learning format that will address multiple learning styles (visual, auditory, etc.).
Ability to utilize various learner engagement tools through a learning management system that will address the needs of advisory organizations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Up to 25 hours per week for 8-10 weeks. Position begins on September 8 and ends on November 21, 2025.
This is an in-person position at the NHQ location in Alexandria, VA.
