Thinking about a career in communications, or marketing? Interested in working in the nonprofit/associations sector? Join the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) - the leading voice of the convenience service industry! NAMA is seeking creative and hard-working students to join our internship program.
NAMA offers undergraduate students the opportunity to intern in departments such as communications, government affairs and meetings and events. Interns don’t just observe—they make a real impact. Our interns sharpen their skills, expand their networks, and build confidence working in the nonprofit and association space.
Key Responsibilities
The communications intern will support the work of the Communications Department and will provide support for digital marketing and traditional communications.
Responsibilities may include:
Website posting, crafting email marketing messages, developing and updating media lists; brainstorming and analyzing communication campaigns; drafting messaging; assisting staff throughout the program with communications-related tasks and completing other office support duties as assigned.

Stipend: Interns will receive a one-time stipend to assist with meals and travel. This is an unpaid internship.
What We’re Looking For:
Students who have completed at least their sophomore year or recent graduates in communications, journalism, public relations, political science, business or related fields.
Strong writers with an eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.
Team players eager to learn, collaborate, and take initiative.
Prior experience in communications, marketing, events, or government affairs is a plus, but not required. Successful applicant will have a strong team work ethic and a belief that no task is too big or too small.
