Web Design & Website Development Intern

If you are passionate about creating visually engaging, creative and unique online experiences through web design and digital communication, this internship may be a great fit for you.

We are NEXO Sicilia, a young, newly-founded social enterprise located in Agrigento, Sicily. We are looking for creative and motivated interns to join our multicultural and dynamic communication and digital development department and contribute to the creation of websites and digital projects supporting both NEXO Sicilia and our network of partners.

Through our work in international mobility, social impact initiatives, and community-based projects, we aim to create meaningful educational, cultural, and professional opportunities for young people across Europe while promoting a more innovative and opportunity-oriented vision of Sicily.

Your role

• Develop and maintain showcase websites using WordPress
• Support the creation of simple e-commerce websites using WordPress
• Implement website layouts, pages, and visual content based on materials provided by graphic designers
• Collaborate with graphic designers and project managers to ensure visual consistency and brand identity across projects
• Upload, organize, and manage website content, images, and multimedia materials
• Customize themes, templates, and page layouts according to project needs
• Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, and user-friendly across desktop and mobile devices
• Support website maintenance, updates, and content revisions
• Contribute to digital projects developed for NEXO Sicilia and its partner organizations
• Participate in a creative and collaborative environment focused on communication, visibility, and digital growth

Apply if this is you:

• You are currently studying or have a background in Web Design, Digital Communication, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Marketing, Computer Science, Web Development, or related fields
• You are passionate about creating intuitive, visually engaging, and user-friendly digital experiences
• You enjoy combining creativity with organization and collaborating with designers and project managers on real-world digital projects
• You are familiar with WordPress and have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS; familiarity with Shopify is appreciated
• You have a strong eye for layout, aesthetics, visual consistency, and responsive design principles
• You are creative, detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated to contribute to meaningful digital projects while developing your professional skills
• A portfolio showcasing websites, visual projects, or digital content is highly appreciated
• You have a good command of English or Italian (minimum B2 level)

• Shared accommodation in fully furnished apartments (utilities included)
• Italian language classes (beginner and intermediate levels)
• Administrative support throughout the internship

Our Requirements:

• You are eligible for the Erasmus+ program or a similar international mobility program, which typically provide you with financial support
• You are available to spend at least 4 months in Agrigento
• You have access to a personal computer suitable for completing the tasks associated with the internship
