Contact is a nonprofit organization that provides free and confidential telephone-based suicide-hotline, crisis-intervention and warm-line services to individuals throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. Clients call Contact’s phone lines for assistance in dealing with loneliness, depression, anxiety, dependence on drugs or alcohol, difficulties with marital or other interpersonal relationships, domestic violence, job loss and financial problems.
Contact also operates a reassurance service that pairs volunteers with isolated seniors. Volunteers call Reassurance clients 365 days a year to check on their safety and provide socialization. This service helps extend the time that clients can safely remain in their own homes.
